I thought it was great how easy it was to buy the tickets and then see them appear in the app. The Pena Palace and the Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra are must-see attractions if you’re visiting the Lisbon area. If you take bus 435 to the Quinta and bus 434 to the Pena Palace, remember to be at the bus stop well in advance, since they can come very frequently—or you might end up waiting at the stop for 30 minutes. We arrived late relative to our ticket purchase time, but they didn’t give us any trouble getting in.

Visiting the Pena Palace and Park, as well as the Quinta da Regaleira, was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. The Pena Palace is impressive even from a distance, with its vibrant colors and extraordinary architecture. From the top, you have a beautiful view of Sintra and the surrounding area. The adjoining park is very large, well-maintained, and perfect for leisurely walks through nature. We were particularly captivated by the mysterious atmosphere of the Quinta da Regaleira. The underground tunnels, hidden paths, and the famous Initiation Fountain make this place truly unique. There are interesting details to discover everywhere, making you feel almost as if you’re in a fairy tale. Both attractions are definitely worth seeing and offer a great blend of history, architecture, and nature. Anyone visiting Sintra should definitely not miss these places.

To say that Pena Palace & the Moorish Castle are amazing is not hyperbolic. They'll take your breath away (perhaps literally)! If you are in shape, you can easily manage to see both in a single outing. You must have a ticket for both. Just be aware that while you can enter the Moorish site anytime they're open, you will have a specific entry time for Pena. Tickets are non-refundable & cannot be changed. I recommend you buy all three tickets (both plus bus) in advance to ensure you don't spend a lot of time waiting. You can walk from one entrance to the other. Be prepared for a lot of steep walking at both sites. Wear sneakers. Heels, slip-ons, & flip-flops are not safe footwear. If you wear sandals, choose a rugged style. There are neither handrails nor guard rails at either historic place. All that said, both sites are definitely worth the effort!

Pena Palace is absolutely breathtaking! It’s charming, colorful, and beautifully nestled in the countryside, with incredible views stretching all the way to Lisbon. The interior tour was very well organized and moved quickly. Even though there were a lot of visitors, the waiting time was minimal, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. The palace also has a lovely gift shop and café that are worth visiting. The walk up from town is quite steep and hilly, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. If you’d rather skip the climb, there are plenty of tuk-tuks and taxis available. We’re so happy we booked our tickets through Headout—it made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Pena Palace was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

I enjoyed the tour of the Pena Palace and the various terraces because of the views they offer. The park is pleasant to walk through, although all the hills are tiring. Well-organized. Quinta da Regaleira: The palace and chapel are very beautiful on the outside, though there isn’t much to see inside. The most interesting thing to see was the Initiation Well. Very pleasant café.

Pena Palace was a complete disappointment. Only a small portion of the palace was available for guest to visit. Hardly worth the price and the hike up the steep incline! Quinta da Regaleria on the other hand was much more pleasant and appealing. I really like the crowd control with asigned time slots.
