Visiting the Pena Palace and Park, as well as the Quinta da Regaleira, was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. The Pena Palace is impressive even from a distance, with its vibrant colors and extraordinary architecture. From the top, you have a beautiful view of Sintra and the surrounding area. The adjoining park is very large, well-maintained, and perfect for leisurely walks through nature. We were particularly captivated by the mysterious atmosphere at Quinta da Regaleira. The underground tunnels, hidden paths, and the famous Initiation Fountain make this place truly unique. There are interesting details to discover everywhere, making you feel almost as if you’re in a fairy tale. Both attractions are definitely worth seeing and offer a great blend of history, architecture, and nature. Anyone visiting Sintra should definitely not miss these places.

Both the gardens and the well are beautiful, with its symbolic representation of the circles and tunnels leading toward the light at various points. It also features the compass rose and the symbol of the Knights Templar.

I arrived late because of the parade in town, but they let me through without any problems. The Quinta de Regaleira was breathtaking—I've never seen anything like it. Highly recommended

A truly thoughtfully designed place. Strolling through its gardens and grottoes is a delight. A journey steeped in symbolism. Highly recommended.

Visiting the Pena Castle and gardens and the Quinta do Regaleira was a highlight in our Lisbon trip. The forests and parks of Sintra with their great diversity of trees and plants offer great pleasure for lovers of nature. Combined with the historical input of the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, the delicous shops, restaurants and pastry shops downtown and the Romantic gardens of Quinta with their fountains, labyrinth, warwrfalls and caves offer a perfect one day getaway from Lisobon. The trafic in the town is very heavy with buses, tuka tuka, cars, cyclists and pedestrians all going around the narrow streets up and a parking spot is also not very easy to find. Having bought tickets in advance saved us time and having to wait in line.
