Wow! Don't miss this beautiful & historic opportunity to see the Quinta de Regaleira! Absolutely lovely day exploring the grounds, tunnels and history of this iconic location. This was our second visit to bring our daughter to experience this gorgeous Quinta and we enjoyed all over again. Please don't miss exploring off the beaten track. We found lovely bench areas for a rest and more tunnels with no one around. It was just a gorgeous day and we stopped at the cafe for hot chocolate and croissant w chocolate. Very fast service and quick seating , we recommend stopping there to get a quick bite. The menu for entrees also look good. Don't miss the chance to get yummy smelling soaps, too from the gift shop. I bought a citrus soap last visit and it's lasted a long time! Just a wonderful trip all around! Highly recommend.

Quinta da Regaleria was the best part of the trip. It wasnt as busy. Glad we did Pena Palace first. Leave 2h for travel to your ticket time and book as early as possible. This allows time for traffic to get to the palace, walking and waiting in line. Super busy. They will not let you in before your time. I.e. Pena Palace booked at 1:30. Arrived at 11 in Sintra took until 1:05 by taxi n walking to reach entrance into Palace. Quinta was booked at 4pm. Arrived a bit early but it was ok to wait. Washrooms available outside entrance line.

It's a lovely place to visit, but it's easy to get a little lost at first, so it's best to pick up a paper map at the ticket office (if it's not too crowded); otherwise, you'll need to show a QR code on your phone if you bought your tickets online.

This is a very unique place and worth visiting for sure. My disappointment is that I bought tix with audio guide but had no idea this meant a QR code for your phone. I did not have cell service there and certainly did not come with headsets or ear buds so we did not get any audio guide at all. This should be made more clear when buying tickets.

The initiation well was cool but the line was long. The Headout audio was very confusing. It would have been better if there were signs at each stop to indicate that you were at the correct site

A beautiful palace; we walked here from the Pena Palace. Admission is straightforward, with a sign at the entrance listing the reservation times. You can wait for your time slot, but there’s nowhere to really sit down. There’s no point in arriving early, especially if it’s hot. Once inside, the directions to the palace aren’t always clear, but otherwise it’s a superb place to visit. You can stroll around, sit down, and tour the interior of the palace, which is also very beautiful and included in the ticket price. It’s quite a climb, so be mindful of people who have trouble walking, even though the garden isn’t very large. A lovely experience

  • Quinta da Regaleira

Get ready for a Romantic castle, chapel, and opulent park with lakes, grottoes, wells, benches, fountains, and a wide variety of wonderful structures that make up the property. There are five stories in the palace including a ground floor, three upper floors, and a basement. The living room, dining room, billiards room, balcony, a few smaller rooms, and a number of stairs are all connected by a network of halls on the ground level. There are extensive tunnels, a Chapel, Park, Initiation Wells, Lakes, fountains, and the aquarium and whatnot spread over the property.

    Monserrate Palace & Park

The Monserrate Palace, or Palácio de Monserrate, is an opulent mansion close to Sintra, the traditional summer retreat of the Portuguese court, in the hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean north of the country's capital, Lisbon.

Afonso Henriques is said to have constructed a chapel to the Virgin Mary during the reconquest of Sintra (circa 1093). On top of the hill, another church “Our Lady of Monserrate” or “Virgin of Montserrat” was built in 1540 on top of its ruins. The terrace opens up to a spacious park. With a lake, several springs and fountains, grottoes, and an abundance of rare kinds of vegetation, it is built in a romantic manner. Plants from all around the world are arranged in the garden according to region. Araucaria and palm trees, tree ferns from Australia and New Zealand, strawberry and holly bushes, cork oaks, and agave and yucca plants from Mexico are among the local native plants that may be found.
