We really enjoyed our visit to the Château des Maures, mainly because of the exceptional views it offers of Sintra, the surrounding forest, and the Pena Palace. For those views alone, the climb is well worth the effort (not to be underestimated, though I believe there’s also a bus that can take you up). Don’t expect to visit a furnished or perfectly preserved castle: it consists primarily of ruins and medieval fortifications. However, the ramparts are remarkably well-preserved and allow you to walk through much of the site while enjoying spectacular views. If you want to see it all, plan for plenty of time and be prepared for a physical hike. We also appreciated the historical aspect of the site, founded during the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula and later restored in the 19th century under the impetus of King Ferdinand II, as part of the Romantic rediscovery of Portuguese heritage. The atmosphere is very pleasant, surrounded by nature, with numerous trails and green spaces. An ideal complement to a visit to the Pena Palace, offering a deeper understanding of Sintra’s history while enjoying magnificent scenery.

Pure magic! The amazing views from the castle walls are stunning, and the grounds at Quinta da Regaleira are mystical and pristine. Super clean environment and a must-visit if you're in Sintra! What impressed me the most was how spotless and well-maintained the environment was at both sites despite the crowds.

Monserrate Palace was a beautiful place to visit and booking through Headout made the experience very convenient. Entry into the palace was smooth and hassle-free. I do wish there had been clearer information beforehand about the ongoing restoration work, since some areas did not look exactly as expected from the photos. That said, I understand this may be more related to the palace's own updates rather than Headput itself. Overall, it was an easy and pleasant experience.

Visiting the Moorish Castle in Sintra was one of the highlights of our trip! The views overlooking the mountains, forests, and coastline were absolutely incredible. Walking along the ancient castle walls felt like stepping back in time, and there were so many beautiful photo spots everywhere you looked. It’s definitely a bit of a workout with the hills and stairs, but completely worth it for the scenery and history. Such a unique and unforgettable place to explore!

Exploring the Moorish Castle was amazing! Lots of steps and very windy at the top, but that made it even more fun. Stunning views, rich history, and an unforgettable experience overall!
