Pro tips to help you make a pick

Your ticket covers one timed skating session, valid only for the specific date and time you choose. Try to arrive a little early so you have plenty of time to lace up and hit the ice right on time.

Don’t worry about bringing your own skates, rental is included with your ticket. Friendly staff are on hand to help you find the right fit or swap sizes if needed.

You’ll need to show your booking confirmation or ticket upon arrival. If you’re skating with friends or family, make sure everyone in your group has a ticket for the same session so you can enter together.

Want to make your visit a little easier? Lockers, skate aids, and lessons can all be added on at the rink for an extra fee. These optional upgrades aren’t included in your ticket but can make your experience more comfortable.

Wollman Rink is a seasonal favorite, open from late October through mid-March. It’s worth checking the schedule in advance, especially around holidays or special events, as session times can vary.

Did you know?

Wollman Rink first opened its gates in 1949, welcoming generations of New Yorkers. It was the city’s first purpose-built public rink in Central Park, making it a landmark for modern ice skating in NYC.

The rink has starred in beloved films like Love Story, Serendipity, and Home Alone 2, earning its place as one of New York City’s most recognizable movie backdrops.

When the ice melts, the rink transforms into a vibrant summer venue filled with pop-up markets, food stalls, and live events making it a true year-round destination.

Beneath the ice lies a state-of-the-art refrigeration system that ensures a smooth, glassy surface, even when winter days turn unseasonably warm.
