Musicals in New York

A Night at Wicked Some experiences you plan for weeks, and still they manage to surprise you. Seeing Wicked on Broadway was one of them. On our last evening in New York, the four of us walked the few blocks from our hotel through the Theater District, past the lights and the crowds, to the Gershwin Theatre. There's a particular energy on those streets before a show: people dressed up, families taking photos under the marquee, the sense that something special is about to happen. From the moment the lights went down, we were somewhere else entirely. The staging, the costumes and the sheer scale of the production were remarkable, but what stayed with me most was the story itself. Behind the green skin and the flying monkeys, Wicked is about friendship, about how easily people are judged by appearances, and about the courage it takes to stand by what you believe when everyone else is pointing the other way. When the first act closed with "Defying Gravity," the whole theatre seemed to hold its breath. It's one of those moments that you feel as much as you hear. Sharing it with my family made it even better. Watching our daughter completely absorbed in the story, and seeing that even our son, at nineteen, was won over, turned a great show into a memory we'll keep for a long time. It was the perfect way to close our week in New York.

I absolutely loved it. Much powerful than movie. Everyone in the theater was absolutely focused by the amazing performance. I hope I can revisit someday!

MJ the Musical was a fantastic experience\! The cast was outstanding, with incredible choreography, powerful vocals, and an energy that truly honored Michael Jackson’s legacy\. I expected to hear more of his iconic songs performed in full, but the show focuses on telling his story, weaving the music into moments of his life and career\. While I missed hearing complete songs, the production was engaging, emotional, and beautifully staged\. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it\!

The theater is beautiful! I had front row mezzanine seats, so my view was fantastic. The actors did an amazing job, and I really appreciated the focus on MJ's music and his creative process. Bravo!

The voices, the orchestra, and the choreography were simply great! Very minimal set, but it really doesn't need to be anything more! Awesome—the orchestra was right in the middle and visible.

It was such an exciting experience, getting to see all their expressions from so close.The songs were so beautiful, and their voices were absolutely electrifying.The beauty of this play lies in the fact that it remains deeply relevant to our lives, even 30 years later.It shows how appearance can sometimes be everything, while the truth hardly matters—especially in our current Instagram generation.Although it was sad, it was still incredibly funny. They really know how to present such a heartbreaking theme in a highly humorous way that everyone can relate.

The songs are perfect for the story, and various aspects and controversial themes were addressed in the narrative in a gentle and entertaining way.

The show was hysterical! I laughed the whole time! The improv, the music, and the humor were all on point! And our seats were AMAZING!
