Did you know?

The Bronx Zoo has appeared in movies, documentaries, and even TV shows like “Madagascar,” “The Zoo,” and “New York at Night.” It's practically a celebrity!

The zoo once hosted "Boo at the Zoo," where animals received festive treats and pumpkins, and visitors came in costume. Even the baboons received their own jack-o'-lanterns.

You can hear lions roar from outside. Yes, seriously! On a quiet day, you might hear the lion's roar from outside the zoo walls, it can travel up to 5 miles!

In the early 1900s, two elephants named Gunda and Kuni got into a scuffle, so fierce that it made headlines! Kuni became known as the "Boss of the Bronx Zoo."

The Bronx Zoo isn’t just about entertainment. It’s the HQ of the Wildlife Conservation Society, which operates projects in over 60 countries to save endangered species.

Bronx River Gate (Gate B)

Bronx River Gate (Gate B), situated at the intersection of Bronx River Parkway and Boston Road, also accommodates both vehicles and pedestrians. It connects to several parking lots, making it a good option during peak times when the main lot may be full.

Asia Gate

Asia Gate is a pedestrian-only entrance located at Boston Road and Bronx Park South. It doesn’t have a dedicated parking lot, so it’s best suited for local visitors arriving on foot or via public transportation.
