Everything was perfect—very simple and efficient. We arrived early and got in right away; no lines, no problems. They didn’t ask for any ID, though they did check our backpacks, and then we went through an airport-style metal detector. Even the ferries to and from Ellis Island and Liberty Island were fast—it’s impossible to go wrong; everything is super organized.

Last week

The boat was great - and then the audio for exploring the Statue of Liberty was great. We arrived at Ellis island and they told us they were about to close (4pm!!) and we could only have the audio guide for 15 mins. Not such a good experience! Should be more information about closing times/ last tours and last boats

What to bring

Carry a valid ID with you for the tour.

Carry a reusable water bottle, sunglasses, and sunscreen with you for the experience.

Wear weather-appropriate clothing for the ferry and carry a light jacket with you because it can get quite chilly on the ferry.
