We totally enjoyed the whole visit , with clear instructions on where to go to retrieve our tickets and proceed to the dome queue first . That was an amazing experience and then afterwards we're in awe of the beauty of the Basilica . We got a couple of reminders the day before which were useful as everything you needed was at hand on your phone . That wasn't the case with every trip we booked so would highly recommend this one .

First, the manager greeted us at the start and provided all the essential information we needed for our tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. The security check was very thorough—which was a relief, since we’d had such a terrible experience at other sites in Rome! Honestly, we were really impressed by the quality of Head Out’s service. We travel to Europe often, and you’ve been the best experience we’ve had in 12 years!

When we saw the long line of people waiting to get tickets to the Basilica, we were greatly relieved to find ourselves moving swiftly through the reserved line and straight in! The audio tour was very thorough and easily allowed us to move at our own pace, from the nave through the side chapels, lall the way to the top of the dome. We had a splendid time; thank you for making this so easy!

Everything was wonderful. The meeting point wasn't quite that easy to find. It would be helpful to know that you don't need to look for Headout. A very nice woman took care of us and gave us everything we needed. We got in very quickly without any wait. Security went by very quickly too, and we really enjoyed everything.

The directions on WhatsApp were excellent. We were easily able to find the entry point for our skip-the-line tickets. The Basilica was amazing. We were never offered our audio guide sets, but were prepared with our free audio guide by Rick Steves. This made our experience seemless and very memorable.

The audio guide, accessed via a link sent through WhatsApp, worked perfectly. The only thing that was a bit confusing was the instruction beforehand to go to the L'Ottagono bar first. All the necessary information was included in the WhatsApp message.

Castel Sant'Angelo and St. Peter's Basilica are both unique experiences, and you should definitely take the time to explore both thoroughly. Thanks to the online tickets, entry to Castel Sant'Angelo was quick and hassle-free. Unfortunately, for St. Peter’s Basilica there is only a ticket voucher, which can only be redeemed on the booked day. The redemption location listed in the confirmation email is a busy square, about 350 meters from the Vatican entrance. With a bit of luck, you’ll find a handful of students (?) there wearing uniforms with rather generic tourist information. Only two of them have a smartphone to check the voucher, and there’s certainly no orderly processing of the waiting crowd. As a result, it took about 15 minutes before I had the printed tickets in my hands, even though there were only three tourists with reservations on site. How much of a wait can you expect when there’s significantly more of a crowd? Once we had the tickets, however, everything went smoothly again at the entrance; you should think carefully, though, about whether you really need the elevator for the first section up to the dome. The elevator operator takes only 10 people per trip, and naturally fewer if there are strollers and/or wheelchair users. Consequently, it can take quite a while before it’s your turn. If you’re in good shape, you’ll definitely get to the top faster on foot. Overall, though, it’s still impressive to see all the art and history on display inside St. Peter’s Basilica.

I had a bit of trouble finding the Bar l'Ottagiono (or something like that) to pick up the skip-the-line tickets. But they didn't seem to get me in any faster than those who didn't have them. I was still glad to have them to go up to the dome. But up there, the view of Rome wasn’t as spectacular as I’d expected. Structures were blocking the view. All in all, it’s worth visiting St. Peter’s Basilica.
