Our guide, Walter, was truly excellent: both in terms of his empathy with the tour participants and, above all, his expertise. The only drawback—which wasn’t the organization’s fault—was the extreme heat, which obviously prevented us from spending much time in the various areas to explore them in greater depth.

It was a truly fascinating tour. Our guide, Valter, treated us like old friends, combining professionalism with engaging commentary throughout the visit. He didn’t bore us with lists of dates and names that might have made the tour tedious, but instead fostered a two-way discussion about the main events, including some anecdotes that made the tour truly priceless. His thorough knowledge of the subject matter and his down-to-earth manner made the tour top-notch. Two hours flew by without us even noticing. Kudos to the organizers, but above all, kudos to Valter for his professionalism.

Our guide, Valter, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful tour with detailed and clear explanations of everything we saw. Certainly, a building or monument of this caliber is an incredible achievement. In addition to Vanvitelli’s genius and the enlightened minds of the Bourbon kings…we must also give credit to the workers, artisans, stonemasons, marble workers, cabinetmakers, sculptors, painters, gardeners, and many others who contributed to the creation of such opulence and beauty there. I believe this could not be replicated today.

I booked the guided tour for nine people over a month in advance. We arrived right on time, 15 minutes early, at the meeting point. At the entrance, the palace staff started saying that the QR code generated by the app wasn’t valid and that we had to go to the ticket office to get tickets for everyone. I went there, and at the ticket office they denied this claim, saying we had to wait for the guide, who would have all our tickets. I pointed this out again to the staff at the entrance, who, upon realizing they’d given incorrect information, started telling us to move because we couldn’t stay there since the guide hadn’t arrived. At 11:10 a.m., she arrived, apologizing for having mixed up some last names. The palace staff’s organization was terrible—they couldn’t provide basic information about entry procedures and tried to shift the blame onto the visitors, who had followed all the instructions provided by the app to the letter. The guide during the tour was very knowledgeable and engaging in his explanations, making the tour very interesting. Too bad about the start.

We never would have expected to see such a marvel. The Royal Palace of Caserta is perfectly preserved; the furnishings, paintings, and decorative items are splendid and can be viewed up close. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and the staff are very helpful and kind.

If you're traveling from Naples, check train schedules in advance for a timely trip, as the train from Naples to Caserta takes about 40 minutes, followed by a 5-10 minute walk to the palace.
