Getting in went smoothly. The audio guides were very good, but you need a phone, which our children didn’t have. There isn’t a children’s version either. However, we really appreciated the clear commentary, which was well-suited to our pace. Please note that there are some items mentioned in the audio guide that are no longer in the castle (one of the cradles in the Cradle Room, a painting in Pius IX’s study, and two or three other items).

Everything was perfect—no lines or issues at the entrance. The smartphone audio guide was very informative without being overly factual, allowing plenty of time to explore the beautiful rooms at your own pace.
