A truly wonderful tour, revisited after a whopping 39 years! The catacombs have always held a very special charm—a place of faith, yet also steeped in history. The only downside is that, just like back then, we weren’t able to visit the third and fourth underground levels. It would be wonderful to see them in the future to get a complete picture of the entire historical period during which they were used.

It shows how brave they were through difficult times and reminding us who are Catholic to focusing on our purposes of life and our destination is Eternal life in Heaven. We had booked a guided tour (in German). We started the tour on time and were part of a small group. The tour was very informative and engaging. Photos and videos weren’t allowed, but that didn’t matter—it meant we could give the tour guide our full attention. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend the tour.
