Duration

2 hrs 15 mins

What happens when two exes collide with their former wife? One word: Chaos. The Exes, a new bromantic farce written by Award-winning author Lenore Skomal and directed by Magda S. Nyiri is all set to take the stage by storm on its first ever Off-Broadway run. In this hilarious and relatable play, all hell breaks loose, when Richard and his best friend Dick’s former wife, Mavis, drops by on an unexpected visit!

  • The Exes is a structured play with clear storylines and a discernible arc, sprinkled with sophisticated and slapstick humor. It also includes a lot of sarcasm and is a satire of sorts. Playwright Lenore Skomal is an award-winning writer with three decades of professional experience, ranging from broadcast to print. She has authored 17 books including three multiple award-winning bestsellers. The Exes is a bromantic comedy full of love and breakups. It is fresh, ridiculous, and tender, reminding us why marriage and divorce make for the strangest of pals.

    The Story

Richard Killingworth is a self-made billionaire. It’s his daughter’s wedding day, coinciding with Christmas Eve. The mood is one of jolly celebrations. That is, up until Richard’s ex-wife shows up in the scene. Celebrating along with Richard is Dick, his best friend. Oddly enough, the two friends were brought together in an unfortunate twist of fate. You see, Dick and Richard both share something similar. In this case, their estranged ex-wife, Mavis. Things take an unexpected turn when Mavis shows up unannounced with her new fiance in tow. What then follows is chaos unbridled with hilarity. With a sharp-tongued butler who is also the house manager, a champagne-soaked bridezilla who does not care for etiquette, a snarky step-son, and the exes, this play is pandemonium viewed from the filter of comedy.
