Without hesitation this was the single best guided tour we took in Italy! Led by an outstanding guide, Luciano Leone, I was so glad I chose Herculaneum over Pompeii. The tour lasted 2 hours and as students of Antiquity we received insights previously unknown. We wished we could have lingered longer, but the heat was oppressive and the driver waiting. If you can only do one tour it should be this one! We all know of Pompeii, but this smaller gem must be seen!! Booking through headout was super easy and cost-effective!

Francesco (I think) was our tour guide for Herculaneum and he was fantastico !! He was funny & friendly & extremely knowledgeable having spent a lot of his youth hanging around Herculaneum in his free time... Herculaneum was a different experience to Pompeii & I would highly recommend visiting it as it is more preserved than Pompeii and has a fantastic museum full of artifacts. Definitely put this on your to do list if you are in the Napoli area !! ☆☆☆☆☆

11:00 a.m. tour on September 6, in French. A simply fantastic guide who encouraged interaction with the group—which isn’t easy with 20 people! The tour was structured in interesting stages that first covered the general overview of the site and then delved deeper into the details. He drew connections to contemporary culture... in short, a guided tour that was both lively and insightful—we wish they were all like this!

The guide Giovanni was knowledgeable, pleasant and very professional. One of the best guides we have experienced during over 40 years of travel around the world. Luciano is working archeologist on these sites and took over for ouguide who suffered heat exhaustion before the tour started He was outstanding and so knowledgeable It was a great tour and he made sure to keep everyone in the shade as much as possible Highly recommend the tour and Luciano
