We had already tried the day before to get into the Vatican Museums without a reserved ticket, but we gave up after a while because the line was too long and the heat was unbearable. On the Vatican Museums’ official website, after several attempts, we were unable to make a reservation. While browsing the web, we came across Headout and were able to book for the next day with great ease.
The hostess accompanied us to the museum entrance, providing us with the most important information for entry.

St. Peter's Basilica is a stunning and immense work of art; every corner is magnificently decorated, and it is the largest basilica in all of Italy. We took the elevator to skip the first 200 steps leading up to the dome, and then we climbed more than 300 steps to reach the top and admire the view—it was well worth it. The stairs are very narrow and sometimes follow the dome’s slope, but they give you a real sense of the architecture of this masterpiece. Headout is always top-notch—easy entry and an audio guide.

With the tickets we bought on the app, we were able to visit the Colosseum and Palatine Hill, which also provides access to the Roman Forum. The Colosseum is a must-see if you’re visiting Rome; the audio guides, which are always included with every Headout ticket, are very helpful. Before I have only seen them in YouTube videos, Facebook and other social medias and now I that I have visited and seen them in person, I was blown away of how detailed and beautiful they are. I loved that they preserved the all the historical paintings, statues and murals in the best condition. I absolutely agree that Michael Angelo is a genius.
