    The story

    Set in the early 1900s, Ragtime follows three families chasing the American Dream: a Black pianist, Coalhouse Walker Jr., fighting for dignity, a Jewish immigrant, Tateh and his daughter seeking a fresh start, and a wealthy white family led by “Mother” confronting change. Their lives intertwine amid historical figures, social upheaval and dreams of progress.
