Gatehouse Entrance (Hidas Gate, Kaputorony)

Located on the north side of the castle, this entrance is reached via the iconic stone bridge over the City Park lake. It’s the most picturesque way to enter and perfect for first-time visitors and photographers. The courtyard and ground level are wheelchair accessible, but the Gatehouse Tower itself is only accessible by climbing 65 steps, no elevator is available.

Museum Entrance (Baroque Wing)

Found on the east side of the castle, facing Heroes’ Square and adjacent to the Anonymus statue, this entrance is ideal for purchasing tickets, picking up audio guides, and joining the Apostles’ Tower tour. It offers step-free access to the main museum hall and ground-floor galleries, making it suitable for visitors with mobility needs. Upper floors and towers are accessible only by stairs.

The guide was superb and explained the history and significance of each building in Hungary very well. Budapest at night is the most beautiful city and looks like it is painted with light. Can't think of a better way to enjoy it than from the Danube! Boat dock was easy to find. Best part was the English speaking guide, Eric. He was incredible. He told the story of Budapest with passion and humor. Best history lesson I've ever experienced. I would highly recommend this tour and would definitely take it again.

We had traveled to Budapest previously but had missed the famous Turkish Baths Szechenyi Baths, booked with Head out two months earlier so we didn't miss out this time. Had a great time.

Luckily, I bought a one-day pass because in the afternoon it was almost impossible to do what I did in the morning. I recommend getting a one-day pass.

Surprisingly enjoyable visit. I only wanted to see the Castle up close and thought the museum would only be an after thought, but lo and behold the interior of the castle is magnificent. I found hallways and staircases that looked straight out of a fairy tale book. I feel like gate keeping the place but it is too awesome not too❤️❤️❤️🏰🇭🇺
