Gatehouse Entrance (Hidas Gate, Kaputorony)

Located on the north side of the castle, this entrance is reached via the iconic stone bridge over the City Park lake. It’s the most picturesque way to enter and perfect for first-time visitors and photographers. The courtyard and ground level are wheelchair accessible, but the Gatehouse Tower itself is only accessible by climbing 65 steps, no elevator is available.

Museum Entrance (Baroque Wing)

Found on the east side of the castle, facing Heroes’ Square and adjacent to the Anonymus statue, this entrance is ideal for purchasing tickets, picking up audio guides, and joining the Apostles’ Tower tour. It offers step-free access to the main museum hall and ground-floor galleries, making it suitable for visitors with mobility needs. Upper floors and towers are accessible only by stairs.

The departure time was a little late, but it was a really nice experience—the views of the parliament building are spectacular. The only thing I'd add is at least some background music; the entire cruise takes place in silence.
