The Grand Stairway features renowned frescoes of painter Károly Lotz and Miksa Róth's stained glass masterpieces on the ceiling and windows. This opulent staircase connects the main entrance to the Dome Hall and is flanked by eight 4-ton granite columns.

Dome Hall

The Dome Hall crowning the Parliament stands at 96 meters, symbolizing the year 896 AD, Hungary's settlement. The hall boasts a rib-vaulted dome ceiling, stained glass windows, and statues of Hungarian rulers on gold pedestals. The Dome Hall has also housed the Holy Crown and Coronation Insignia since 2000.

Guarded Hungarian Holy Crown

The Hungarian Holy Crown, or Crown of Saint Stephen, is guarded around the clock in the Dome Hall alongside the Coronation insignia like the Holy Orb, Sceptre, and Coronation Sword. This historic crown has been used to coronate over 50 kings from the mid-12th century to 1916.

Old Upper House

Step into the historic Old Upper House chamber, once the seat of Hungary's Upper House of the Diet from 1867 to 1918 and 1927 to 1945. This splendid chamber, adorned with gold-plated decorations and royal family coats of arms, now serves as a venue for conferences and meetings.
