One thing to note is that you need to go to the ticket office first, show your head out ticket, and then you will receive a paper ticket for the secret passages and a paper ticket for the museum . The ticket office will also give you a location of where to meet your guide. The secret passages tour is well worth doing. You see hidden rooms , paintings and narrow spiral staircases within the palace walls, all described very well by the guide. The last stop before the museum is the beautiful ballroom. There's lots of information to absorb but it's worth it .

Access to the tower was very easy.. Just note that there are a lot of steps inside the town hall before you get to the tower climb. Once in the tower you can stop for a rest in a little room which was a prison and then half way up there is 360 viewing before making the last climb to top. At the top there are great views over Florence and the the duomo. Well worth the effort. This is a good choice if you feeling climbing the duomo dome or the Campanile bell tower is too much.
