Our Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum tour was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The tour was incredibly enlightening , bringing ancient Roman history to life with fascinating stories and insights. Walking through the Colosseum and imagining the gladiator battles was truly awe-inspiring. Palatine Hill offered stunning views of Rome, while the Roman Forum provided a remarkable glimpse into the heart of the ancient empire. The tour was well-organized, engaging, and informative. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to fully appreciate the history, culture, and grandeur of Ancient Rome.

The combination of the Mamertine Prison and the fact that you had to arrive an hour before the start time at the Colosseum is not customer-friendly and isn’t clearly explained in the options. At the Mamertine Prison, we had to stand in line to exchange our tickets. That wasn’t very customer-friendly either. Other than that, it was okay.

I was initially worried as the tickets didn't come through straight away but the online chat was super helpful and the tickets came through about an hour later! We collected our tickets at the prison up the road, slightly further than I originally had thought but just allow 15 mins for this each way. Super easy to collect the tickets.

Picking up the actual tickets was very easy and it went smoothly. You will definitely need your ID or Passport. And colosseum is about 10 mins walk from Mamertine Prison. Really worth buying vouchers on this platform

Superb experience i Colosseum! Such a place with so much history behind the ruins 🤩 We also booked the Mamertine Prison Museum which was very nice as well 🤩 Unfortunately we did not have a lot of time to enjoy Mamertine Prison or the ruins around Mamertine Prison and Colloseum due to short time before Colloseum and closing time to look at the ruins afterwards, which is a shame ... but overall a good experience 😇

Too bad—you have to run a bit. We didn’t visit the prison because the Colosseum’s entry time is strict; we’d booked for 9:30 a.m. and it was too tight, so we had to run almost 2 kilometers round-trip to pick up the Colosseum ticket. And if you miss the time, you don’t get a refund. After that, you can go back to the prison, but you have to make the trip all over again, and after visiting the Colosseum and the Forum, you really have to be pretty young.

  • Rome through memory lane

Rome, the capital city of Italy, is said to have been founded in 753 BC. Within its magnificent structures lie chronicles of powerful history. Learn how art, economy, architecture, power, and public policy were dealt with in this past civilisation.

A tablet guide will help you explore the Mamertine Prison (also known as the Carcer Tullianum museum) and understand its gruesome past as a maximum security prison where enemies of Rome were incarcerated, usually when awaiting execution. The Colosseum is no less intimidating. This oval amphitheater, the largest in the world, has witnessed a lot of dramatic showdowns and barbaric bloodshed under Imperial Rome.

    Ancient metropolitans

The Roman Forum was the site of important political, religious, social, and economic activities of the city - from elections, trials, gatherings, and trade. It now contains a museum where you can learn more about its history. The Forum, following the path of many urban developments of ancient Rome, fell into decay after the fall of the Roman Empire until it became pasture land. In the Middle Ages it was looted for its stone and marble. The area has been systematically excavated over the past 200 years, and what you will walk through are well-preserved ruins with a long story to tell.

South of the Forum and 51 meters above sea level stands Palatine Hill, the “first nucleus of the Roman Empire''. This plateau has an intricate terrain and scenic lookout, with ornamentally designed vegetation and layers of multistoried buildings. Visiting these monuments will ensure you leave the city with a deeper appreciation for the grit of ancient humans. Don’t miss out on them on your trip to Rome.
