Pro tips to help you make a pick

Driving to Tibidabo sounds tempting, but parking is limited, and traffic uphill can be a hassle. Instead, hop on the Cuca de Llum funicular from Plaça Dr. Andreu—it’s scenic, efficient, eco-friendly, and included in your park ticket.

You don’t need a ticket to enjoy the Panoramic Area (Camí del Cel), where the views are as epic as the photos. But if you want to ride the iconic Avió, Talaia, or Giradabo, you'll need a wristband or a pay-per-ride option.

Visit thrill rides like Merlí and Muntanya Russa midday for the clearest skies and shorter lines. For Instagram-perfect shots, save Giradabo or Talaia for golden hour (about an hour before sunset).

The park is wheelchair-friendly in many areas, including the funicular, Giradabo, and restrooms. An accessible Ferris wheel cabin and elevator-equipped viewing decks ensure everyone gets a great view.

Surprise! Monday might seem less busy, but it's a popular visit day for school groups and summer camps. Try Tuesdays or Thursdays for a more relaxed vibe.

Did you know?

In 1957, Walt Disney reportedly tried to purchase Tibidabo’s prized Automata Museum for his own parks, but was flat-out refused. The charming, coin-operated characters were too beloved to let go.

Debuting in July 2024, the Merlí drop tower, named after the legendary wizard, launches riders 500 m above sea level before plunging them with panoramic terror. It’s Tibidabo’s tallest, wildest ride yet.

The “Cuca de Llum” funicular, inspired by a glowing firefly, isn’t just scenic, it’s award-winning. This green transit marvel has scooped international design accolades for its eco-friendly innovation.

Tibidabo’s iconic Avió ride, in service since 1928, still spins with its original propeller and a 1933-era radio-telephone onboard. It’s a fully functional tribute to aviation history.

Back in the day, locals believed the Talaia tower could cure whooping cough. Just one sky-high ride in its open-air bucket was said to shake the illness right out of your lungs!

Why visit Tibidabo Amusement Park?

Legendary history

Open since 1905, Tibidabo is one of Europe’s oldest amusement parks, and still a local favorite. Hop aboard the Avió, a 1928 replica of the first Barcelona–Madrid flight, or ride Talaia, a 1921 open-air bucket that lifts you for unbeatable views.

Sky-high thrills

Thrill-seekers, meet Merlí, a vertical drop tower launched in 2024. With rotating seats and an open-air design, it teases you with sweeping views of Barcelona before launching you into free-fall.

Green & chic ride up

Inspired by a glowworm, the award-winning Cuca de Llum funicular glides 279 m up Tibidabo Mountain in 4 scenic minutes. It’s sustainable, stylish, and comes with panoramic previews of the park.

Panoramic playground

The Giradabo Ferris wheel soars high with rainbow-colored cabins. Prefer vintage? The historic Carousel and Embruixabruixes monorail add sky-high serenity with old-world charm.

Quirky gothic touch

Sharing its hilltop with the majestic Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, Tibidabo mixes thrills with spiritual grandeur. Catch live puppet shows or explore over 40 coin-operated figures in the Automata Museum.

The hop on/off was a memorable experience especially for wheelchair access - guides were helpful and friendly - bus driver was amazing through the Barcelona streets! Headphones were supplied and audio was clear and easy to follow along. Unfortunately the booking process added an extra ticket which I am in the process of trying to be refunded.

It was a nice tour, but the sound system on one of the buses wasn't working, and it was so crowded that we had to wait a long time. We would have liked to extend it to three days, but that wasn't possible. Too bad!

We were in Barcelona for 4 days and did the orange and green bus routes and the ecocat cruise. A great way to get a feel for where things are and plan to get back to areas of most interest. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Well done
