If you’re headed to London’s West End, seeing Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre is an absolute must. From the very first note, the production captures your imagination and refuses to let go. The entire cast delivers a masterclass in musical theater, with performances that are nothing short of perfection. The lead actresses bring such depth and raw emotion to their roles, making the bond between Elphaba and Glinda feel incredibly real. Their vocal ranges are breathtaking, turning every song into a show-stopping moment that resonates throughout the entire house. The technical side of the show is equally impressive. The seamless integration of music and special effects creates a world that is both magical and completely immersive. Whether it’s the dramatic lighting or the intricate stage machinery, every detail is designed to keep the audience enthralled. Watching the story unfold against such a grand backdrop is a truly riveting experience. The soaring orchestrations combined with the stunning visual spectacle make for an unforgettable evening. It is a flawless blend of storytelling, talent, and stagecraft. I cannot recommend this show highly enough—it is a "Defying Gravity" experience that lives up to every bit of the hype. Don't miss the chance to see this masterpiece live

I haven't read any story related to The Wizard of Oz in the last decade, and Wicked really brought me a new interpretation and different angles, focused on the debate of good and bad (or even non-binary) which made this musical to something more than just an entertainment. Especially like Elphaba. This probably made my 15th musicals since 2014. A big fan of it.

Wicked was spectacularly performed. The cast was extemely talented; acting and singing were a true joy. As was the orchestra. The venue was beautiful as were the stage and all special effects. I would highly recommend Wicked to anyone visiting London in search of a little artistic magic!

Amazing vocals and great set. With familiarity to the movies, there are quite a few younger children during the matinee shows. This can lead to some distractions, but overall a very enjoyable experience.

The sets, the actors, the costumes, the direction... everything was great! The theater itself is conveniently located near Victoria Station. I was in seat Q14 in the Stalls, and the view was perfect!
    • Based on Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel, Wicked reimagines Oz before Dorothy, perfect for families, friends, and anyone who loves a spellbinding musical.

    • A multi-award winner with 3 Tonys, 2 Oliviers, and a Grammy, Wicked has thrilled over 13 million audiences across 7,000 shows.

    • Friendship, identity, and prejudice power this story, staged with dazzling sets, lush costumes, and iconic songs like "Defying Gravity" and "Popular".

    • Playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre since 2006, this West End staple continues to receive glowing praise. Book your tickets to the Wicked musical in London now!

    • Fun fact: In April 2010, "Defying Gravity" was used as a wake-up call for astronauts aboard NASA’s space shuttle mission STS-131. Astronauts’ families often pick wake-up songs, and this one was chosen to inspire the crew on day 10 of the mission.

    The story

Before ruby slippers and yellow brick roads, two witches crossed paths in Oz, the blonde, beloved Glinda and the green-skinned outcast Elphaba. What begins as rivalry at Shiz University slowly becomes a powerful friendship, tested by politics, magic, and questions of morality. As loyalties shift and truths unravel, destiny pulls them toward roles history will never forget. But who truly decides who’s good and who’s wicked?
