I stayed in Marghera for the weekend and had done some research beforehand on what to see and how to get around. I bought a 48-hour ticket online for €35.00, which was very convenient for traveling by vaporetto and buses on the mainland. It’s a very charming city, truly full of places to visit. I was particularly struck by Lido for its cleanliness and the scent of linden trees that filled the air as I strolled through the streets. Don’t miss the traditional cicchetti found along the Fondamenta della Misericordia in the Cannaregio area. A must-see stop is Burano for its colorful houses and lace. There’s a lot of walking involved, so I definitely recommend comfortable shoes!

We bought a 3-day pass online. Redeeming the voucher for a printed ticket at a machine went smoothly. The vaporettos always arrived on time. The boat rides in and around Venice are truly unique. We would book this ticket again in a heartbeat.

The ACTV 72-hour pass is an affordable and safe way to use ACTV public transportation, whether it’s the buses between the mainland and Venice or the entire vaporetto network. The PNR voucher received at the time of booking can be easily exchanged for the ticket.

They're easy to use and work perfectly! However, for me (as a foreigner), it was a bit complicated when I arrived in Venice, since I still had to convert them into “real” tickets after buying them online... plus, the machines for doing this were out in the sun, which made the screens unreadable... so stressful!

The ferries run very frequently and go in all directions. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to figure out which pier to choose for your destination at first. Still, I’d recommend buying day passes to get to your destination faster and more affordably.
