We went to see Rigoletto at the Sydney Opera House. The performers were world class and the performance was second to none. As usual going to the opera house at Bennelong Point was a pleasant experience being on Sydney Harbour with a view of the ferries and other ships big and small going about their business. In all it was an enjoyable experience

I had a great seat. It was a good production Rigoletto had a good strong voice. I felt the Duke could have been stronger. Wonderful to sit with a crowd who really appeciated being at the opera. Looking forward to going more frequently to events at the Opera House.

The preformance of Rigoletto was by all measures amazing. Everything from the sound design to the opera singers felt powerful and tragic, like the story itself. The stage design was particularly incredible. They took a piece originally set in the 16th century and made it modern without turning it trite - in fact they made it lore alive. Each scene fit perfectly for its meaning, telling a story on its own, even before the first note sounded.

A dark tale of power, vengeance, and sacrifice unfolds in Verdi’s iconic opera, perfect for drama lovers and classic opera fans in Australia.

Dalibor Jenis leads the cast with Kang Wang and Gemma Nha, conducted by Sesto Quatrini in his Opera Australia debut.

The story
