Definitely go as early as you can. There was already a line when we arrived at 0730. Crowds were crazy so we were glad that we arrived early with our pre-purchased tickets. There was a very friendly young man checking tickets and then scanning people in. Definitely a must-see, super historical and so very well maintained.

One of the most impressive experiences I had in Athens was visiting the Acropolis, a place everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. I bought the tickets online, a smart choice that allowed me to avoid the long lines at the ticket office and start my visit without rushing. I entered through the southern entrance of the site, where the path gradually opens up toward the ancient ruins. Along the way, I passed by the Theater of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus before reaching the Propylaea, the monumental gate that opens access to the Acropolis and, further on, to the Parthenon. The atmosphere of the place is steeped in history, and the feeling of walking in the footsteps of an ancient civilization is hard to put into words. The highlight of the visit was the sweeping panorama of Athens, admired from the observation point on the Acropolis. The view of the city is truly spectacular and makes every step of the climb worthwhile. I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon, when the crowds and the heat are easier to avoid.

Visiting the Acropolis and the Parthenon with my son Gianni was one of the most meaningful experiences of our journey through Greece. Standing before monuments that shaped democracy, philosophy, and world history was truly unforgettable. The audio guide helped us better understand the history, culture, and significance of each site. Walking through the Acropolis felt like stepping into the origins of civilization itself. The views over Athens were breathtaking, and despite the number of visitors, the experience remained peaceful and inspiring. This visit was more than a tourist trip for us; it was an educational and emotional moment shared between father and son. Greece welcomed us with warmth, history, and beauty that we will always remember. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the heart of ancient history and human achievement. A must-visit if you’re anywhere near Athens. The Parthenon and hilltop views are genuinely impressive, especially around sunset. The historical significance lives up to the hype, and the museum nearby adds a lot of context. Best tip: Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat and tour groups. Overall: 9/10 for history, views, and atmosphere.

Early morning weather and crowds not pleasant. Suggest one goes up late afternoon. Less people and clearer sky. The online booking works well and one can beat the crowds to the top of the Acropolis. My second visit in over 30 years so great to see the progress in restoration of the site.

The audio guide in French was very handy, with geolocation features both in the Acropolis and in the Old City. A comfortable tour.
