I'd already known this show in its stage and film versions for some years, but this performance (with some very interesting new features) was really incredible. The actors, orchestra and technical people kept up the side-splitting but complicated non-stop action for 2.1/2 hours (with a well-deserved 20-minute break in the middle) without so much as putting a single foot wrong, fluffed line or wrong note that I could detect. Absolutely amazing! This was a matinee, so they had to do it all again a coupler of hours later? They deserved every penny they were paid and more. I'm afraid I gave up London as a desirable place to go some time ago (for reasons that the whole world must know by now) but I'm coming back to see this show again if it's still going.

The little theatre was full and enthusiastic about the performance! Every time we come to London we go to see a musical and my 17-year old daughter said it was the best she ever saw. My 23-year old son has been attending a school of musical in Italy and THE PRODUCERS was suggested to him by his teachers!

Super Kitsch, outrageous and camp, and of course very very funny. The Springtime for Hitler number was fabulous. Great performances all round, and mention must be made of the excellent ensemble who all played many roles, brilliantly. A great night out. One lady in the audience came out saying "I can't stop smiling!" - exactly how we felt - and we still do, the day after. Recommended on every level.
  • Mel Brooks's iconic and hugely successful 1967 film The Producers found new life in its musical adaptation that took both Broadway and the West End by storm. The end of its successful run left a hole in the hearts of theatergoers, which makes it unsurprising that its eventual revival on the West End in 2024 proved to be a massive hit. Transferring from the Menier to Garrick Theatre, the Tony Award-winning record-breaking production is all set to bring its irreverent brand of comedy back to the stage once more.

  • The King of Broadway, theater producer Max Bialystock, has just hit his lowest low: a panned adaptation of Hamlet that shuts down on opening night and leaves him crushed. When his accountant Leo Bloom tells him, however, that a tiny accounting error left him with a profit, a plan begins to brew. A $2 million investment, an opening night flop, and a grand escape to a comfortable retirement far away. There's just one problem, though: their flop just turned out to be the greatest hit ever.

I never saw "The Producers" before, neither on screen or stage, although I did see snippets here and there, so I was a little concerned the play might be dated and no longer funny, but I was wrong. It was still hilarious with a slapstick sort of zaniness only Mel Brooks could dream up. LOL The songs weren't terribly memorable, although "Springtime for Hitler" will always be iconic, but it was fun to watch and the actors and actresses who performed at the Garrick Theater were outstanding. I was especially impressed by Roger's statue, he moved so fluidly and froze so perfectly. Just the way I'd expect a magical statue to behave. The theater itself is very cute and classically quaint, but my seat in Row W was directly behind the seat in front. There's very little slope or offset, so if somebody in front of you is tall, then expect half the stage blocked from view. Music was performed live, out of view, but sounded great and so much better than prerecorded tracks. Great staff running the place.
