The story
A story about the trials and tribulations of love, Hadestown focuses on two couples — the poverty-ridden Orpheus and Eurydice and the King of the Underworld, Hades and his wife, Persephone. When Persephone is miserable about returning to the Underworld after she visits the world above, Hades heads out to search for someone who will appreciate the offerings of his home. He finds Eurydice and convinces her to move to the Underworld in exchange for food and protection. Eurydice agrees and becomes a worker at Hadestown, the dark underground factory of Hades. When Orpheus finds out, he vows to save Eurydice. What follows is a heartbreaking tale of sacrifice, triumph and the mysterious machinations of fate.

SoloVerified bookingLast week5/5The performance was really made astonishing by the use of light to illuminate certain characters in the play, creating dynamic shots between characters which helped to really set the emotional atmosphere. Furthermore, the lighting helped accentuate the impact of certain scenes making it a poignant and powerful tool for highlighting the importance of particular events.DDiane W
