Sehr gut organisiert, sofortiger Zugang zum Petersdom. Audioguide hat auch sehr gut geklappt und war informativ. Nicht zuviel, nicht zu wenig Information. Petersdom ist überwältigend. Allerdings kein bedächtiger Ort in der Ferienzeit ;-) Es hat sich dennoch gelohnt.

Security check points are so busy they forget about you and your questions. Other than that, I skipped the line to enter, which I had to figure out myself cause no one will help you unless you speak up. Services at the door is squeaky smooth. No one checked my ticket. I could have went inside for free. Wish there was more guidance at least at the gates to show you where to go.

Il problema è stato che avevamo l'entrata all' una e non ci è stato permesso di passare perché la sicurezza non aveva dato il permesso. Abbiamo aspettato fino alle 14. Per non restare sotto il sole siamo entrati in un bar. Poi avremmo dovuto metterci in coda con l'entrata delle 14 e siamo entrati dopo le 14. Intanto chi non aveva prenotato e pagato è entrato.

Der Eintritt mit Audioguide war für uns ein voller Erfolg! Ich war mit drei Kindern unterwegs und die Erklärungen über den Audioguide hatten exakt die richtige Länge, um die Aufmerksamkeit der Kinder nicht zu verlieren. Zudem hat es sich wirklich sehr gelohnt, nicht in der Sonne anstehen zu müssen. Den Zugang hat man problemlos gefunden. Auch die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war sehr organisiert und ausführlich.

L'ingresso è stato semplice, ho raggiunto il punto di incontro in cui ho conosciuto gli addetti che mi hanno spiegato in maniera chiara come comportarmi, una volta avviato ho passato tranquillamente i punti di controllo e sono entrato ascoltando la voce guida, devo dire che è stata una esperienza altamente appagante, anche perché per il forte caldo non avrei resistito a fare la normale fila.

Il punto di incontro e l'assistenza per ingresso prioritario perfetto. L'audioguida era solo in inglese da scaricare con app differente: non proprio comoda. Al punto di incontro lo staff gentilissimo ha indicato un'altra possibilità per audioguida in italiano ed è stato perfetto.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, or oversized luggage are prohibited; only small backpacks or personal bags are permitted (no cloakroom available).

Food, drinks, smoking, alcohol, and drugs are strictly forbidden on the premises.

Pets are not allowed, except for registered service animals.

Flash photography, tripods, and filming equipment are prohibited (non-flash photography is allowed).

Entry through the Holy Door is not included.

Infants are not allowed inside St. Peter’s Basilica.

Accessibility

Both experiences are not wheelchair accessible; some areas include stairs and narrow passageways.

These visits are unsuitable for individuals with walking difficulties, heart conditions, claustrophobia, dizziness, certain disabilities, anxiety disorders, or for pregnant visitors.

All visitors must pass airport-style security checks.

Additional information

At St. Peter’s Basilica, there are two entrance lines, a free entry line and a reserved entry line. Only visitors with reserved tickets can use the reserved queue. Brief waits may still occur during peak hours due to security procedures. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure smooth check-in.

Entry is only permitted through the reserved entrance line.

Both basilicas enforce a strict dress code; failure to comply may result in denied entry.

The basilicas may close certain sections due to force majeure, which does not entitle visitors to a refund.
