Sail for 2 hours to Ocean Free’s exclusive mooring at Pinnacle Reef, just 1km off Green Island. The bommies and coral gardens start about 1 metre below the surface, and you can snorkel straight off the boat at any time. Optional dives are available at extra cost.

You can cancel these tickets up to 24 hours before the experience begins and get a full refund.

Check in from 7:15am at the Ocean Free + Ocean Freedom desk at Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns, then board the 16.5-metre sailing schooner from 7:30am at A Finger No. 4, Marlin Marina. The cruise departs at 8am, with coffee, tea, Danish pastries and fresh fruit served on boarding.

Sail for about 2 hours to Pinnacle Reef, Ocean Free's exclusive mooring just 1km off Green Island. Snorkel straight off the boat with tuition and gear provided, join a fish feed, or relax on board. Certified and introductory dives are available as optional extras.

A smorgasbord lunch is served on board. You have 4.5 hours to share between the reef and Green Island, which you reach by tender. Explore the island's walking tracks and rainforest, swim, or visit Marineland Melanesia.

Sail home with the engines off and enjoy a tropical afternoon tea. The schooner returns to Cairns around 5pm.

Swimmers, hat, sunglasses, towel, sensible boat shoes and sunscreen.

Accessibility

Guests must be mobile enough to get in and out of a dinghy onto the beach and from the dinghy to the main vessel.

Additional information

The cruise has a maximum of 25 guests and 4 crew. All guests are assessed for their snorkelling and diving abilities and assisted as needed.

Guests must be at least 12 years old to do an introductory dive, with a maximum of 2 divers per instructor.

Certified divers can explore the reef with a complimentary guide.

All divers must complete a dive medical on the day.

Optional bus transfers from Cairns and as far north as Palm Cove must be pre-booked.
