It was easy to find the meeting place. Our guide got us directly to the Basilica and gave us specific directions for this tour and the next. She was very helpful and friendly.

Anna Lisa was lovely, very helpful. We met her at St. Marks due to mobility issues. I am not sure why one should return to the tour center and start from there versus meeting spot at cathedral for all in group. As an older traveler, this would be appreciated. The audio guide provided needed information about st. Marks and the Doge’s Palace.. thank you

    What to Expect

St. Mark's Basilica: This stunning church is famous for its shimmering, golden mosaics.

    Features

    • Walk through 8000 square meters of gilded mosaics that tell biblical stories.

    • See the intricate mosaics on the domes and arches that tell stories from the Bible and the life of St. Mark.

    • Admire the magnificent inlaid marble floor, with its intricate geometric and animal designs.

Doge's Palace: This palace was the heart of Venetian power, full of opulent rooms and rich history.

    Features

    • See Tintoretto's Il Paradiso, the world's largest oil painting.

    • Cross the famous Bridge of Sighs and see the ancient prisons.

    • Inside the Prisons, you'll discover a stark contrast to the palace's opulence. These grim cells, some with graffiti etched into the walls by past inmates, offer a chilling look into a darker side of the Venetian Republic's history.
