This was our first booked activity after arriving in Rome in the morning and it was one of the best things we did on our 3 day trip. The colloseum is impressive in itself but our guide Gini really brought it to life. She was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Especially showing us pictures of how the Roman forum would have looked and showing us some vantage points that we would not have otherwise seen and explaining what would have happened in each. I would definitely recommend this type of tour and a big thank you to Gini, who not only was a fab tour guide but took some great photos of us. Thank you 😊

The guide had a deep knowledge of the history and managed to share it in an engaging way. The group tour definitely helps you make the most of your time. These are places steeped in history that are worth taking the time to appreciate and try to imagine everything that happened there. It’s not just a place for taking photos!

A wonderful experience. Our guide, Federica, was very knowledgeable, clear, and professional. She immersed us in Roman history with great passion. I hope to see her again and have her as our guide on future tours!

Good communication to keep us assured all was well. An excellent guide who kept the trip interesting. The tour was long enought to cover everything, but not so long as to be exhausting.

Our guide was great. Unfortunately my mother suffered from the heat and she and I were only able to do the first 30 minutes of the tour. My kids stayed on and really enjoyed it though.

Early time slot for the colosseum is the way to go. Our guide, Aphrodite was very knowledgeable and would highly recommend her. We truly enjoyed this guided tour.

We loved the tour and our guide but the confusion created by Carpe Diem before the tour we disliked. First we received information that our tour starting 9.30 was cancelled. We offered another different tour. We were offered a 15% payback. Which we still have not received. We accepted, our tour would start at 10.00. We again received an app from Carpe Diem that our tour would start at 10.30. Much to our surprise, on our way to the meeting point I received a call from from Carpe Diem. With the question , where are you? Your tour start at 10.00????

We really enjoyed it because our guide, Sonia, made it very entertaining even though it was a long tour; we started at 9:30 a.m. and finished at 12:45 p.m. What I didn’t like—and didn’t understand—is that six days before the tour, they sent us a message saying that due to restrictions at the Colosseum, the guide wouldn’t be able to enter and would leave us at the gate. When we went in, there were large groups with guides, so I don’t know what’s really going on—maybe they just don’t want to pay for the guide’s ticket... I don’t know about the rest, though.

I was expecting a little more from the tour inside the Colosseum, and the guide was unengaging and seemed a bit improvised at times. Of course, this review is based on the cost of the tickets we paid (2 adults and 1 child)—€253 is no small amount!
  • Getting started

Meet your guide and breeze past the queues with timed entry. After a quick security check, step into the Colosseum and get ready to travel back in time.

    What to expect

    • The Colosseum – the epic stage of ancient gladiatorial battles – is yours to explore. Follow your expert guide through the seating rows where thousands once gathered, and visit the museum on Level 2, showcasing artifacts from the Colosseum’s past.
