These spectacular 16th-century castles are among the must-see attractions you shouldn't miss if you're in the region. The wines from Chambord are also superb.

The castle offers a wonderful view, especially from the riverbank (and also from the other side of the river). The gardens are pleasant to look at. The multi-level bridge over the river is particularly interesting. A tour of the castle is enjoyable. The castle is located a bit out of the way, but the detour is worth it.

Quick access with no wait at 9:20 a.m. Plenty of well-marked parking lots. The route to the castle is well signposted. The castle tour is also well signposted. Plenty of places to grab a snack or a meal.
