I can highly recommend the 360 degree tour of the Royal Liver Building which is well worth doing. The tour involves visits to the roof areas of the buidling in addition to an enjoyable projection show in one of the clock towers that takes you through the history of the building. Our guide was entertaining and very imformative and we were given plenty of time on the roof terraces to take lots of photos of the views both above and below. The only thing to be aware of is you need to climb lots of steps on the tour and the highest levels of the building are accessed via a spiral staircase so the tour is not suitable for folk who have mobility issues and cannot manage stairs.

A very good communication in advance by email. A worm welcome at the desk and again good information how the tour will happen. Free lockers are available to let unhandy things like a rucksack downstairs. The tour with Shan was very good and informative. There was always room for questions and all in all we had enough time on the platforms outside for photos. The views are fantastic over a really amazing city. For us the perfect ending of a wonderful day in Liverpool. May Bertie and Bella never fly away! Kind regards from Germany

It was amazing. So much to hear about and the views at the top are breathtaking. Proud to be a scouser! Loved the screen show in the clock tower, felt quite emotional seeing our favourite city's story told in such a wonderful way. I was surprised that 2 late comers who missed the health and safety video at the start of the tour were not required to watch it. Definitely will be recommending this tour to friends and family.

Very personable and knowledgeable tour guide. Extremely helpful staff that coped with one of our group in a mobility scooter - although she wasn't able to manage the full tour, the entrance displays and information boards were accessible. Wonderful to understand the history of this iconic building.

You can't miss The Beatles when you are in Liverpool. The Beatles Story Museum is really a great museum to visit. It is very informative, interesting and their history is presented through fantastic installations. It takes you back to their era, very enjoyable.

Our guide was very knowledgable alongside a sense of humour. The views are spectacular over the city. The film show behind the clock faces is very emotional and portrays all the amazing Liverpool highlights through history.
    • Enter the Royal Liver Building, explore its interiors with a guide, climb into the West Clocktower, and watch a 270 degree immersive show inside.

    • Spend time in the visitor centre exploring archival exhibits, use the multilingual audio guide, then head up to the 15th floor for wide views and Liver Bird sightings.

    • Follow The Beatles journey through recreated Hamburg clubs and studio spaces, with original memorabilia like instruments and personal items placed along the route.

    • Use the audio guide in your language as you move through exhibits, then spend time in the Discovery Zone or take a break at the Fab4 Café.

My Mum worked in the Royal Liver Building many years ago so when I saw an advert to do a tour I jumped at the chance. Our guide Jason was great and we had fantastic views across Liverpool from the outside viewing deck. I only wish we had been able to see inside so I could show her what it looked like now.
  • Start high above the city at the Royal Liver Building, then shift into the music filled storytelling of The Beatles Story, moving from wide open views to more personal, detailed moments.

    Getting started

You can begin at either attraction depending on your plan. Show your mobile ticket at the entrance, pick up your audio guide where available, and head in. Both experiences are easy to follow and mostly self paced.

    What to expect

    Royal Liver Building 360°

This part feels more structured, with a guided route that gradually takes you higher while sharing the building’s story along the way.

    Features:

    • West Clocktower tour: You’ll head inside the tower with a guide, getting close to the clock mechanism and seeing parts of the building that are usually closed off.

    • 270 degree audio visual show: Inside the clock room, a short projection wraps around you, using light and sound to tell the story of Liverpool and the building itself.

    • Visitor centre exhibits: Before or after the tour, you can spend time looking through archival displays that explain how the building was designed and what it represents.

    • Liver Bird views: As you move through the upper levels, you’ll get surprisingly close to the Liver Bird sculptures, which most people only ever see from the ground.

    • 15th floor viewing platform: This is where you slow down a bit, looking out over the River Mersey, the waterfront, and the city stretching out in different directions.

    The Beatles Story Museum

This part feels quieter and more personal, where you move at your own pace through spaces that piece together how The Beatles became what they are known for.

    Features:

    • Recreated iconic locations: You’ll walk through spaces modeled after The Cavern Club, Hamburg clubs, and Abbey Road Studios, with details that make each setting feel grounded.

    • Original memorabilia: Along the way, you’ll see real items like John Lennon’s piano and George Harrison’s early guitar, displayed in a way that lets you stop and take them in properly.

    • Audio guide storytelling: The audio guide explains what you’re seeing without overwhelming you, connecting each location and object into a clear, easy to follow story.

    • Discovery Zone and café: Toward the end, you can slow down, whether that’s a quick break at the café or a look around the store for Beatles themed souvenirs.
