What to expect

Toronto’s Distillery District

This self-paced city game turns Toronto’s Distillery District into your playground as you navigate old industrial buildings and cobbled streets using your phone. The experience typically takes about 2 hours to complete, but there is no time limit, so you can move as slowly or quickly as you like.

Features

Toronto’s independent artists feature throughout the route, with clues and stories guiding you past creative spaces so you can discover local work as part of the game. As you wander the cobbled alleys of Toronto’s old buildings, the app connects locations with short narrative prompts.

Whisky history in Canada is a key thread of the experience, with stops that highlight how whisky production shaped this historic district and the wider country. You learn about this whisky history through in-app content instead of a physical tour guide.

Sake naturally fermented by yeast in the walls appears at one of the stops, where the story focuses on how this unique fermentation process developed in the area. Another section has you watch skilled chocolatiers whip up sweet treats, tying these chocolatiers into your puzzle-solving.

A self-guided city exploration game via mobile app powers the entire experience, so you will not have a physical tour guide, and Wi-Fi is not included. You can start, pause, and resume anytime with 24/7 flexible access. Kids can join for free, and the exploration of independent artists, whisky history, sake, and chocolatiers is included for all participants.
