Verified booking3 days ago5/5I came across these wonderful people on YouTube and, as a true sumo enthusiast, decided to experience authentic sumo for myself. From the moment I arrived, I was given an incredibly warm welcome. I immediately had a great personal conversation with the host, followed by a very interesting presentation about the world of sumo and the lives of sumo wrestlers. After that, I had the opportunity to train alongside the sumo wrestlers and take part in various sumo exercises. But the best part was yet to come: I actually got to compete against them! It was an amazing, but incredibly demanding experience. You immediately realize just how much strength, technique, discipline, and dedication go into this ancient sport. After all that exhausting hard work, I was rewarded with a huge and delicious sumo meal. We then had plenty of time for an extensive Q&A session, where I learned even more about sumo, the daily lives of the wrestlers, and the traditions behind this incredible sport. It truly was an unforgettable experience that I will cherish forever. I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their hospitality, their time, their knowledge, and all the wonderful memories I was able to make. If you are ever looking for a truly authentic sumo experience in Japan, look no further. This is definitely the place to go. Once again, thank you so much for everything! And who knows maybe until next time!GGregorio R
Verified booking3 days ago5/5I tried this sumo experience yesterday with my sister and we both came away delighted. Mayu welcomed us, and her English is well above average: she explains things clearly, there was never a moment of confusion, and she put everyone at ease right away. Then the two wrestlers arrived, Yama and Genki, who professionally walked us through the practical part and went into real detail on the techniques and the rituals. You learn a lot and have fun at the same time, which isnt a given. Dinner was the part Ill keep with me longest. They prepared the meal and served it to us, and it was excellent, but what stayed with me was the conversation around the table. Sitting there with two men who live this life every day gave the whole evening a weight I wasnt expecting when I signed up. We talked about sumo, of course, but mostly it turned into a comparison between their culture and mine. Special thanks to Mayu for that conversation and for making all of it possible: without her it would have stopped at the first question. Id recommend it to anyone with a few free hours in Tokyo. If Im ever back in the area, Ill do it again without hesitation.NNicholas O
Verified booking3 days ago5/5Coolest and most unique thing we did in Tokyo! We found Tys mini history presentation about sumo very informative and interactive. It was the perfect introduction to the whole experience and did a great job at keeping the audience engaged. Kou and Genki are absolutely hilarious and super strong. We did not feel any language barrier to the experience and the three of them worked with each other seamlessly with Tys fluent English and the wrestlers eagerness to be part of the conversations. Our favorite part was when we got to actually challenge the wrestlers and be in the ring, also got a very cool video from it. During the hotpot dinner we even got to learn more about Kou and Genkis experience as retired-pro sumo wrestlers and got lots of recommendations for things to do around the city. The photo souvenir at the end was the perfect surprise and is something we will be putting on our fridge and keeping for memories. 10/10 experience, loved every moment of it.DDavid B
Verified booking3 days ago5/5We had such an amazing experience with Sumo Tokyo! Presentation was very educational and MC spoke perfect English. We were very curious and asked a lot of questions which were welcomed and answered. Wrestlers had a very good sense of humour. It was fun to wrestle them, and the hot pot after the show was very delicious! I even had to ask for recipe which they provided us. This was great and very interactive experience. Everyone could participate and my kids )and I had a great time learning wrestling moves. They even took our picture and had them printed while we were enjoying our hot pot and presented each family member with the picture and some souvenirs. All of the hosts running the place were very welcoming and I am so happy that our family ended up coming here instead of another place. I highly recommend this show!CCarlotta

We booked the entire experience (sumo show + dinner) and we enjoyed it all. The restaurant staff were pleasant to be around and talk to, super helpful and polite. I went with my dad and my younger brother. We ate a soup with meat, tofu, and vegetables and it was delicious. Really savory. This experience is something I will never forget!
