Organizing the trip with Headout was very easy. All the details were accurate. I was surprised to find that, after traveling 800 km, my name was already in the hosts' register—they were expecting me! A few days before the trip, the hosts even invited me to dinner. Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise.
From the parking options right through to entry, everything was completely hassle-free. I had bought the tickets online in advance; they just scanned them at the entrance and we were good to go. Parking was reasonably priced. The national park was beautiful and everything was very accessible. There were 3 bus stops and 3 boat docks, which made it quick and easy to get to the other side of the park. We spent about 4 hours there; right at the start, we took the first bus to stop 2 and headed straight from there to stop 3. From that point on, we continued on foot. Everything is very well signposted and easy to walk. Coming from Germany, it felt a little unusual to us at first that the trails have virtually no railings. But if you aren't afraid of heights and watch your step, it's not a problem at all. In fact, it makes the whole experience much more intense, as you truly feel out in the wild. We hiked up to the viewing platform, which was a bit of a workout for inexperienced hikers like us since it sat high up on a mountain. But the effort was 100% worth it. The view was breathtaking: you could admire 4 or 5 of the 8 total lakes from up there. I can wholeheartedly recommend this park to anyone who enjoys nature. There are mountains, lakes, streams, waterfalls, and a vast forest to explore and cross. If you're lucky, you'll certainly spot some small wildlife like lizards, fish, or birds—and those were just the ones we happened to see. We brought our own snacks, so I can't speak for the food, but there was at least a small restaurant at every bus stop. It was a wonderful experience for me, and if I ever visit Croatia again, I would definitely do it all over again.
Buying the tickets in advance is very important. We were lucky and still found morning tickets to Krka park. The tickets showed up in my email. We were good to go
Gorgeous day, spent with a gorgeous person! Truly a special occasion for us, and a highlight of our trip to Croatia. From the boat ride to the walkways, it was our favourite day of the holiday and we'd love to come back someday!
Everything was just great! Ftom the bus to the guide and the stop in a lake beach prior the entrance to the lake. The boat ride to the park was such a thrill as well the park path and the falls...simply a must!
Our small group tour with Goran was outstanding! He was incredibly knowledgeable being born and raised there and had a huge amount of passion for the Plitvice Lakes National Park. He told us so many fascinating tips and stories that we would have not ever known if we were hiking by ourselves. 10/10
