Booked online tickets through Headout and saved myself the headache of standing in really long queues. It was a super crowded day being the weekend and had I not booked in advance, I'm not even sure we would have got the chance to view!

I received confirmation almost immediately, and getting into the park was very easy—no unnecessary lines or delays. Everything worked exactly as described on the platform, which was very reassuring. The park, by the way, is spectacular: very well-maintained, peaceful, and perfect for disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of the city. Without a doubt, both the experience with Headout and the visit to Shinjuku Gyoen exceeded my expectations. If you plan on going between March 28th-April 2nd it is mandatory to get a reservation for your visit. We went there on March 28, 2026 and it was packed. The park is huge. It's best to bring water with you or if you choose to have a picnic inside you can bring food with you as well (unopened). They have vending machines but you need yen $$ for that. And they have some cafes around, but the lines aren't worth the wait. The grounds are well kept and it's a peaceful space with lots of opportunities for relaxation
