I haven't been able to set up the discounts yet, but in my experience, it's a bit of a hassle.

Using Headout was super easy because you could just switch between the subway, tram, and bus without having to validate your ticket every time, which was confusing at first when we were still buying single-ride tickets. After that, everything was easier.

You can buy a Viennacard and get everything in one package. Even the Hop-On Hop-Off bus is included. The whole process at the tourist information office went smoothly. A very friendly and knowledgeable staff member provided us with all the necessary information and advice. Unfortunately, the device at the exit for rating the service wasn’t working, so we weren’t able to leave a review there.

The ticket for train and bus travel is great, and combined with the discounts on attractions, it’s definitely worth it. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to visit quite a few attractions for it to be worth the cost. Vienna also offers affordable weekly passes for train and bus travel, so be sure to do the math carefully.
