Did you know?

The Opera Garnier has an underground lake that inspired the Phantom’s lair in 'Phantom of the Opera'. Emptying the underground cistern would cause the Opera to collapse!

Box number 5 at the Opera Garnier was supposedly privately reserved by the Phantom every night in real life and is today the first to sell out.

Banks near the Opera Garnier would stay open late when there was a performance as wealthy opera-goers who stored their expensive jewelry would take them out just for this occasion.

The Opera Garnier is the first building in history to have been signed on by the architect.

During the Prussian War, the unfinished Opera Garnier building was used as a camp to store food and straws.

Why visit Opera Garnier?

Architectural masterpiece

The Opera Garnier is guaranteed to stun you as it drips with luxury, and boasts lavish interiors, intricate designs, and details so ornate, that you'll feel like you're in a dream.

Historical significance

History buffs go crazy for theatre's stories and history that spans over 150 years. Opera Garnier is even the backdrop for Gaston Leroux's iconic novel, The Phantom of the Opera.

Incredible acoustics

The acoustics at the Opera Garnier are legendary and among the best in the world! Every nook and cranny of the opera house was carefully crafted to make sure the music sounded like magic from every single seat.

Cultural significance

Apart from the opera house’s intricate architecture and elegance, it is also a French National Heritage site, symbolizing Paris's artistic soul and a must-visit if you want to soak up culture, history, and the arts.

Stunning ceiling

Marc Chagall spent a year completing the Opéra Garnier's ceiling, reflecting his essence. It features vivid colors and intricate details, showcasing winged figures, Parisian landmarks, and musical symbols. Look closely and you might spot Chagall himself and André Malraux. The ceiling also honors 14 composers and their works, a monumental task Chagall undertook at 77, refusing payment out of pure inspiration and generosity. Oh, also don't not forget that grand staircase and the Grand Foyer that starred in Emily in Paris!

We got in really quickly—since I’d already bought the ticket through the app—and had no trouble getting in. The only downside was that we didn’t get an audio guide, but in the end it wasn’t a problem because if you like art and have heard of some of the painters and sculptors, you’ll enjoy spending over three hours inside the museum. You enter through the Sally Hall, and they ask you to scan the QR code sent by the app itself, so from there you can start enjoying the entire museum. The map in Spanish (my native language) tells you which room to go to, and before you know it, you’re standing in front of the Mona Lisa. Then you go down the stairs, and the sculpture gallery is (in my opinion) the highlight of the museum, passing through the paintings by Italian artists—it’s huge! If you can schedule a visit in the morning, that’s best, because the groups that start pouring in suddenly don’t let you admire everything you come across along the way. It’s definitely a great app for getting into the museum—it’s worth noting that this alone is enough to enjoy everything it has to offer. I highly recommend it—you go at your own pace, taking in everything it has to offer, and before you know it, you’ve been inside for three hours! I bought the ticket the day before and it was the only slot available—is it worth it? Yes, it takes a little while for them to send you the codes so you can enter, but it’s very secure and reliable. I definitely recommend it—it’s fast and they accept all credit cards. Don’t hesitate to get your tickets here.

I’ve never seen anything like it—I had as much fun as a little kid. It was an unforgettable and absolutely wonderful experience; everything was perfect, just like in a fairy tale. plus it was our daughter’s birthday, which we celebrated there—everything was magnificent. Inside, you don’t have time to get tired; all the attractions are magical. I never thought in my life we could experience something so beautiful. All the characters are so kind—they come over to say hello and wished our daughter a happy birthday. It’s not every day you go there and they greet you—it was magical for us.I’d do it all over again 10,000,000,000,000,000,000 times. Even the cake we ate there was delicious—the restaurants are amazing. We even met some Italians there and exchanged a few words. I’d take so many walks along that avenue—it’s so magical and fills you with positive energy. We had an incredible time and were speechless from the moment we arrived until the fireworks show, which leaves a lasting impression on your heart ♥️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you, Disneyland, for this wonderful day

Le Paradis was spectacular—highly recommended for a cabaret experience in Paris; we loved it. On the other hand, we didn't enjoy the Seine river cruise; the boat didn't have a place to serve drinks or food, so I wouldn't really recommend it.

The Opéra Garnier is beautiful, wonderful, and magnificent. I was able to come here on my second trip to Paris because I bought tickets in advance on Headout. It’s a must-see attraction—be sure to explore every corner. If you can, go during the first time slot to take photos and videos without the crowds, or perhaps it’s actually quieter at the end of the day. If you’re unsure, go to the Opéra Garnier.
