    Getting started

    Enter the National Museum of Denmark using your Standard Entry Ticket and proceed directly to the exhibition areas. Present your ticket at the entrance checkpoints as required, then choose your own route through the galleries. Since your ticket is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase, you can plan your visit on any museum opening day that suits you.

    What to expect

    Your visit centers on a wide range of exhibitions inside the National Museum of Denmark, covering prehistory, Danish history, world cultures, and family-focused spaces. You can explore freely between permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions, and dedicated children’s areas at your own pace.

    • Get access throughout the building so you can focus on the themes and periods that interest you most.

    • Spend time in the permanent exhibitions, including The First Humans and the History of Denmark on 3 floors, and follow how objects and stories trace the country’s development over time.

    • Dive into access to special exhibitions such as Land Unknown, The Viking Sorceress, Arctic, and KA-CHING!, where changing displays highlight specific topics, eras, or regions.

    • Younger kids can enjoy The Children's Museum, a dedicated space included in your ticket that is designed for hands-on exploration and family time.

    • Make use of access to museum amenities, including Café Daisy and the museum shop, when you want a break, a snack, or a chance to browse books and gifts between galleries.
