The play was great - really enjoyed it. The seats however - we were at the top, E9 and 10 - view of the stage was excellent but the seats were miserably uncomfortable (and we're both fairly average size people). Air conditioning was also a challenge but do appreciate it was unusually hot.

Performance was very well done. The speech was clear, the actors playing their roles superbly. The plot was a bit hard to follow, some of the British jokes flew over our heads and as a crime mystery obviously there has to be a bit of discourse in the storyline. But I feel this was a good example of the limitations that come.from adapting a book to a theatrical. The seats in the theatre are a bit snug, with not a lot of leg room. I'm only average height but even my knees were against the seat in front.

The performance was amazing, as were the actors. The props were very typical of that period- traditional English style. I particularly enjoyed the humorous dialogues combined with the suspense I felt throughout the play. Congratulations to the whole team!

    • Fun fact: David Raven, one of the prominent members of the original cast, made his mark in the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘Most Durable Actor' with a jaw-dropping 4575 performances as Major Metcalf.

    The story

A blizzard traps seven strangers inside Monkswell Manor, a countryside guesthouse cut off from the world. When a police sergeant arrives, they learn a murderer is in their midst. As secrets unravel and tensions mount, the killer strikes again. But who is the next target, and who is hiding the biggest secret of all? With red herrings, chilling backstories, and Agatha Christie’s signature suspense, The Mousetrap, London is the original "locked-room mystery" that redefined the genre.

    Critics reviews

“At the end of this week, the world’s longest-running show will complete its 65th year in the West End. It is salutary to reflect that when it opened, Winston Churchill was prime minister and there was still rationing.”

    - Evening Standard UK

“It has passed into the realm of great British institutions, as much a highlight of the tourist trail as the Tower of London or Madame Tussauds.”

You're carried away by the mystery and the outcome lives up to your expectations. Even though I suspected part of the enigma before it was revealed.
