The story
The story tells the life of a young girl, Matilda. The musical begins with her birth and moves on to describe her unhappy upbringing as she lives with her TV-addicted family and bears their constant abuse. She is an intelligent child who loves reading even though her family believes that it is a complete waste of one’s time. Due to the abuse she faces Matilda often plays pranks on people aided by her telekinetic powers. Matilda even plays pranks on her school’s headmistress, Mrs Trunchbull whom she believes to be a bully. Soon, she develops a strong friendship with her teacher Miss Honey, who admires Matilda’s intellect and almost magical abilities. Amazing musical, thoroughly enjoyed, well worth the watch. Only downside, there was strobe lighting and I went with someone with photosensitive epilepsy, and there was no signs anywhere saying there was any sort of flashing lights, thankfully the person I went with was fine.Ruhee

Tickets were easy to access. The musical was very good, my kids also enjoyed it. Venue is nice although restrooms a little cramped. We sat in dress circle and had a good view.

The production was very good and I loved the mother of Matilda and the headmaster was great but the character who played Matilda was very disappointing, hard to hear her, performance not the best. Also Lavender was not the best performance. All the other kids were super, I would have taken one of them to play her. Don't understand the choice.
