We came all the way from Perth, Australia to see Matilda in a West End theatre. The cast were incredibly talented and professional and we just loved the atmosphere of the Cambridge theatre. In addition, my son was unwell so sat in the bar area of the theatre for the second act. The staff were very kind and asked if he would like to watch and listen to the show on their screens which allowed him to finish watching the show.

It was an incredibly wonderful visual and musical show to enjoy, with a magical story and fun characters, full of creativity. The additional inter-act part by Mr Woodworm was really funny. This musical has been performing for 15 years, and I am intrigued in knowing how many wonderful Matildas have been created. Matilda is the unique musical that is a must-do thing when visiting London.

All I'm saying is that it was very difficult to choose which musical my mom and I would attend while in London and I'm so glad I chose Matilda. Try to get center seats (up high) so you can see the different layers of the set and you will not be disappointed. From beginning to end it was nonstop fun, laughs, great music, and maybe even a little lump in my throat at times. I would return to London just to see this again. And there's some thing about English children because the audience, which was 40 % kids were all so well-behaved!
    • Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved book and film, this musical delights kids and grown-ups with clever humour, catchy tunes, and a defiant young star in London.

    • Winner of 100+ awards, including 24 for Best Musical, with book by Dennis Kelly and music by Tim Minchin, critics call it hilarious, moving, and glorious (The Daily Telegraph).

    • Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre is now the 15th longest-running show in history. The musical made its Broadway debut in 2013.

    • The production uses 8,320 balloons yearly, 100 tubs of chocolate spread, and 86 sound effects; each show is a playful feat of stage magic.

    • Expect high-energy choreography, bold staging, and favourites like “When I Grow Up”, “Naughty”, and “Revolting Children”. Book your tickets to Matilda The Musical in London today.

    The story

In a quiet English village, young Matilda Wormwood stands out, not for trouble, but for her brilliance, quick wit, and love of books. Neglected by her brash parents and ruled by the fearsome Miss Trunchbull at school, Matilda discovers a spark of something truly extraordinary. As tensions rise, she hatches a bold plan to outwit the adults and rewrite her own fate… but how far will her courage take her?
