Mar 20264/5Had a great two-night family stay (our kid’s 8) and really liked it. The place itself is stunning, and that huge window is a treat—we actually saw the aurora from our bed, which blew us away. Everything felt new and fancy. Breakfast was a real treat too, loads to pick from. If you get a chalet in the front row, you’ll have a totally clear view, but the others look out at the trees and some other chalets, so it’s a bit more blocked. Only thing that bugged us was the outside lights—they don’t switch off on their own at night, which kind of ruins that wild, dark vibe and makes it harder to see the northern lights. The blackout curtains are great but I’m guessing most people don’t notice the lights are still on. Swapping to lights that turn off would make a big difference. Access to all the resort fun is included, which is awesome—ice sledding, skating, skiing, and playing in huge piles of snow. The little huts with fires were cozy and perfect for marshmallows or sausages. We were here in early March, super snowy but not cold, so we didn’t need to be indoors much, but I bet in colder weather those huts are a lifesaver. Sauna area was great—about 7 with all sorts of themes, plus two hot tubs outside and a cold plunge. The sauna attendant was really friendly and helpful, made it even better. Food at the restaurant was decent but pricey, though we expected that. Dinner buffet is 50 euro but you can get cheaper options like sandwiches, pizza, and other stuff. The big letdown was the reindeer ride—way too short for over 100 euro, and the staff member running it barely talked to us, especially not to our kid, and seemed totally uninterested. Reindeer looked kind of sad too. Not worth the extra money. Most staff were great though, especially the sauna attendant, reception, and the folks helping with skates and skis. March was awesome for no crowds or lines, and we got long, sunny days! Santa Village was also pretty empty at this time. Overall, I’d absolutely suggest staying here—gorgeous spot with loads to do, just wish it was longer!Mar 20264/5The real highlight for us was seeing the aurora from our bed thanks to the massive window in our room—such a treat. The rooms are all really new and comfy, with smart blackout curtains, but we found the outside lights kind of spoil the wild feeling at night since they're not motion-sensor and just stay bright. Would be even better if they fixed that. Breakfast each morning was a big spread, and the views from the front chalets are amazing, though some other rooms face towards the woods and might have their view blocked by other buildings. As for what you can do, we took full advantage of sledging, skating, skiing, and just playing in the deep snow piles. Toasting marshmallows in the fire huts was a hit too. Weather was mild for March so we didn’t need a lot of shelter, but the huts would come in handy if it got colder. The sauna area is packed with choices—lots of different types and even outdoor hot tubs and a cold dip. The person running it was so nice and really made the whole thing better. Food at the restaurant was fine but costs a lot—dinner buffet is 50 euro, and even sandwiches or pizza aren’t cheap. The only letdown was the reindeer ride—super short and staff there didn’t really interact or make it fun for our child. The reindeer seemed pretty grumpy too. Still, other staff across the resort were friendly, especially those at reception and the ones helping out at the skating and ski rental. We liked coming in March as there weren’t any lines and the days were sunny but not freezing. Would absolutely come back, just wish we could have stayed longer!Mar 20264/5Our visit to Lapland Winter Park was a real mix of ups and downs—definitely some great moments along with a few letdowns. The landscape itself is a huge plus, it’s really something and just adds to the whole atmosphere. We tried our hand at cross-country skiing (first time ever!) and that was a real highlight. The sledging hill was also loads of fun, and checking out the saunas was absolutely worth it. On the flip side, we ran into a problem with the changing rooms not being very accessible for people with disabilities, which made everything harder for my son. That’s definitely something that needs sorting out to be fair to all guests. We also felt the reindeer sleigh ride was a letdown—way too short and just not as fun as it sounded, so it didn’t feel like money well spent compared to the other stuff on offer. Overall, we did have a nice day and there’s lots to like about the park, but a couple of things—especially the accessibility and the reindeer bit—could really use some work.Mar 20265/5Arriving in Rovaniemi, my partner and I were searching for a truly wintry day out, and Lapland Winter Park was everything we hoped for. The free shuttle picked us up right from the city center, so getting there was a breeze. Registering was quick and the staff made us feel welcome immediately. We spent hours on the massive sledding hill (I never knew how competitive we could get on sleds!) and retreated to the warm Kota huts in between runs to thaw out by the fire. The park is picturesque—snow-laden trees, twinkle lights, and the peaceful quiet of Lapland all around. We tried snowshoeing for the first time, and the Christmas-themed forest trails were magical. I was a little worried it might feel too "family focused" for adults, but we had a blast and still found plenty of quiet moments. The only tiny hiccup was a short wait for sleds during midday, but it hardly mattered. Highly recommend this for couples or solo travelers who want to soak in Lapland's snowy magic.Mar 20264/5We visited Lapland Winter Park recently and honestly had a bit of a mixed visit—parts were really lovely, but some things kind of let us down. The scenery is gorgeous and gives the place a great vibe. We loved giving cross-country skiing a try for the first time—that was a standout moment. The sledding hill was a lot of fun and chilling in the sauna world was a highlight. The downside for us was the lack of changing areas for disabled guests, which made it tricky for my son. Really hope they improve that so it’s easier for everyone to visit. Also, we found the reindeer sleigh ride kind of disappointing—it’s super short and not very exciting, felt a bit overpriced compared to other stuff in the park. Still, we did enjoy the day overall, but a few fixes—especially with accessibility and the reindeer ride—would go a long way.
