The dinner and show were absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and paired with excellent wine. The service felt very personalized from beginning to end, and the restaurant itself is stunning and elegant. After dinner, the show was an unforgettable experience and truly a must while visiting Buenos Aires. The dancers and musicians were amazing, performing to some of the most famous tango songs with so much passion and talent. The entire staff provided outstanding service throughout the evening and made us feel very welcomed. This was easily one of the highlights of my trip and an experience I will always remember. Every part of the evening was worth it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Buenos Aires!

La calidad de la banda en vivo y de los bailarines superó mis expectativas. Sentí que estaba en un bodegón de 1970 escuchando artistas del momento. Me transporto a otra era. La selección del show con bailarines en grupo y pareja y la inclusión del malambo fue muy emocionante. La participación de Hugo Marcel fue la frutilla del postre.

Die Show hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Nebst den Tango Tänzer:innen, gab es auch einen Malambo, eine Sängerin und Sänger und ein paar tolle Musiker. Im Ticket inbegriffen waren Wasser und ein Glas Wein. (Wegen der langen Wartezeit brachte man uns ein 2. Glas Wein). Wir haben die Show ohne Essen gebucht. Auf dem Ticket stand 21 Uhr und unbedingt 15 Min. vorher da sein. Als wir pünktlich kamen war es noch geschlossen und wir wurden etwas unwirsch hinaus komplimentiert. Die Show sollte dann 21.45 starten, effektiv startete es aber erst gegen 22 .15 Uhr.

El Viejo Almacén offers one of Buenos Aires' most traditional tango experiences, celebrating the music and dance in the neighborhood where much of tango's history unfolded. The performance combines the elegance of classic salon tango with the energy of stage tango, accompanied by a live quintet orchestra, acclaimed vocalists, and accomplished dancers. Every act showcases the emotion, precision, and storytelling that define Argentine tango, while the intimate theater brings you remarkably close to the performers. Depending on your ticket, you can complement the evening with a gourmet three-course Argentine dinner and beverages before the show, round-trip hotel transfers from downtown Buenos Aires, or preferential VIP seating.

The venue

Located at the historic corner of Balcarce and Independencia in San Telmo, El Viejo Almacén has been a symbol of Buenos Aires' tango heritage since 1969. Housed inside a building dating back to the 18th century, the venue preserves the charm of old Buenos Aires with period décor, vintage photographs, and an intimate performance space that recreates the atmosphere of the city's earliest cafés where tango flourished. Its close proximity between the audience and the stage makes every note, dance step, and musical performance feel deeply personal.
