Went on an organised tour which was fabulous. The tour guide was very informative and gave life to the exhibition. I booked and used one of your mobility scooters as I have a disability and it's quite an orideal for me to transport my own scooter to the gallery. What a marvellous service and it's free!!! I really value what you are offering the public. I will become a regular visitor from now on. Thank you so much.

No problem to enter though the ticket didn't specify a time slot which the NGV required at that price. Not forced to see an exhibition that I didn't want to see to be able to enter at any time. The downside was that it was crowded and it was difficult to have access to the exhibit. Head out was new to me but I will use it again in the future fit NGV events as the tickets are better value for money.

The Cartier exhibition in Melbourne is outstanding! BRAVO to the 3 Cartiers brothers for their achievements. They travelled the world, and became totally dedicated to their jewellery business. The NGV has to be congratulated for their choice in bringing the most beautiful jewels to Melbourne. You will discover glittering diamonds, rare precious stones, unique tiaras and watches, miniature statues and so much more... Don't miss the opportunity to go.... you won't regret it! It was a journey through art, history and culture, craftsmanship and history. What fascinated me most was how many of Cartier's designs remain timeless. Pieces created a century ago still feel remarkably modern.. I was equally captivated by how they drew inspiration from different cultures around the world. I came away with a deep appreciation for Louis Cartier's artistic vision. The history behind the brand is every bit as impressive as the masterpieces themselves.

The exhibit was beautiful. We booked into the tea rooms for sandwiches and Devonshire tea. You must book as it's always busy upstairs in the tea rooms. We parked underneath the gallery so it was very easy to help my 90 year old Aunty in, out and around the gallery. Headout is a great site to book on. Very competitive prices and they give you all the information you need for a great day out.?

The Cartier exhibition was huge. The displays were brilliantly designed and lit. Although busy, it was possible to view each item easily. The artistry, skill and craftsmanship were amazing and the historical context informed the story. A delight and highly recommended!

The entry was smooth and easy and the staff were polite and helpful. The display was beautifully exhibited and so gorgeous to look at. The history and geography explained about the gem stones was informative and interesting. I loved the whole exhibition.

Historic and extraordinary objects: Over 300 remarkable items, including precious jewels, historic gemstones, iconic watches and clocks—spanning from Cartier’s beginnings at the turn of the 20th century through to its most contemporary creations.

Iconic and celebrated pieces: See famous works such as the panther brooch, the mystery clock and the Tank watch that helped shape Cartier’s enduring legacy.

Creative process & design: Design drawings from the Cartier archives illuminate the creative process behind these masterpieces, offering rare insight into their exceptional craftsmanship.

Global collaboration: The exhibition, created by the V&A, London in partnership with NGV and Cartier, features loans from private and institutional collections across Europe, the United States and Asia, alongside highlights from the Cartier Heritage Collection.

What to bring
