Easy but plan to go with at least 30 minutes ahead of cutom patrol which took another 50 minutes. If you go with 2 hours for departure you will not make it. Plan 3:30 hours ahead if you need to get tax refund. Carful with customer control police, he had truly bad attitude. Saw him mistreat a husband who had to leave the line and then come back to his wife and small kids. He made father go back to the back of the line when he had already reached the front and it was evident that family would not make their flight. It was very sad and he treated them truly aggressive and unfairly. He should be reprimanded for his treatment to this family. 22/10/2026 So sad!!!

I'm was lucky to get the last ticket for the skip-the-line tour and it was a awesome! Miguel knows a lot and he makes history being so interested! I'm definitely not a history lover but he made the tour so much more enjoyable - not just history facts! For me that is the only way to see places like this beautiful Monastery , don't waste money just on the tickets- it will be boring and you'll not learn anything! I don't even knowhowthose 2 hours passed by ! He really enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge with us! Thank you Miguel!

Solal nous a commenté l'historique de ce Monastère unique et fascinant avec enthousiasme et compétence. Nous l'avons beaucoup apprécié. Le dialogue entre notre petit groupe et lui etait animé, sympathique et plein d'enseignement. De nombreuses particularités de ce monument foisonnant de symboles ont été soulignées et commentées. Une magnifique après-midi ponctuée par la visite fabuleuse de la fabrication des pasteis de Belem (goutées avec délices).

Dee was great, very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. We didn't feel rushed, she gave us lots of time to take pictures. She made sure the pace of the tour suited everyone. She communicated before the tour through What's app which was helpful. One of the highlights had to be the visit to the Pasteiis de Belem factory and the sampling of the original monk's recipe egg custard tarts. Would highly recommend this experience.

Our tour guide Beatrice was so friendly and knowledgeable on our jeronimos Monastery tour (english speaking) in Portugal. She was caring and relaxed and instantly made everyone comfortable. The headsets were great and I could hear everything she said. I would highly recommend this tour and also Beatrice as the tour guide! I would use headout again and highly recommend this tour company to my friends.

Simone our guide was amazing. Spoke brilliant English and coped well with several nationalities at once. I highly recommend having the skip the line ticket with guided tour as we learned so much about the architecture, history and stone carvings. The church was interesting as well and the Pastisse de Belem were delicious. Overall an excellent trip by this company.

We met our guide Luis at the designated meet up spot and enjoyed a very educational tour of the monastery, pasteis tasting & production tour, and waterfront walk to the Monument of the Discoveries. Luis was so informative about everything and the skip-the-line feature of our ticket was a true time saver and value. This booking was a good tour!

Visitors are not allowed to photograph some parts of the monastery.

Keep in mind that food, beverages, large bags, or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.

Accessibility

The lower level is wheelchair accessible, but some areas have cobblestones.

Wheelchairs are available for rent at the entrance.

Skip-the-line is ONLY available for the morning slot at 9:30am.

The skip-the-line option costs 89 EUR per person (same price regardless of pax type).

The 2pm slot does not include skip-the-line entry to the monastery.

Entry is free for Portuguese residents on Sundays and public holidays, which often leads to larger crowds. If possible, plan your visit on another day.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, 1st January, Easter Sunday, 1st May, and 25th December.

Due to ongoing renovations, the Belém Tower is closed to visitors until the end of 2026.
