This was my first time booking with Headout. This was really easy and they did a good job providing email notifications so it was easy to find my tickets. It made the line smooth and reasonable tickets. The Jerónimo Monastery itself was breathtaking. Did not like the panhandlers outside but not the establishment's fault. The architecture was gorgeous and stunning and such a great experience. So many photo opportunities to capture the natural beauty. I would have loved to see more signage for people like me that did the self guided tour but otherwise had a great time. Would definitely use Headout again for future tickets.

Belém y el Monasterio de Jeronimos nos parecieron increíbles, las entradas nos ayudaron a acceder a ambos lugares sin necesidad de hacer filas. Todo estaba muy bien organizado y no hubo necesidad de esperar mucho tiempo. Llevar los tickets digitales fue algo muy práctico y no había necesidad de llevar nada impreso, nos encantó todo y voy a recomendar ampliamente su página y aplicación para comprar tours y tickets a los diferentes lugares.

inscription facile mais au moment du règlement il y a eu un bug comme si le paiement n'était pas accepté. Nous avons vérifiér notre compte bancaire et rien n'indiquait le paiement. Nous avons recommencé et reussi. Notre surprisd est arrivé ensuite nouz avonz reçu 4 vouchers. Nous avons donc payé 2 fois. J,ai envoyé une réclamation mais ne savais pas répondre à toutes les questions. je n'ai réussi à ouvrir tout que le jour de la visite.

Dee was great, very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. We didn't feel rushed, she gave us lots of time to take pictures. She made sure the pace of the tour suited everyone. She communicated before the tour through What's app which was helpful. One of the highlights had to be the visit to the Pasteiis de Belem factory and the sampling of the original monk's recipe egg custard tarts. Would highly recommend this experience.

We visited Jeronimo's Monastery in October, and even at this time of year, the queues were ling. But ince our appointed time arrived, we eere ushered in with little fuss. No-one checked IDs, just our time and date. The monastery itself is very photogenic, esoecially the cloister. Unfortunately the high choir area was closed. Still, a great experience for thosed appreciative of Manueline architecture.

Instructions before the visit were detailed and helpful. Arrival 30 minutes ahead if entry-time was perfect. Landmark is outstanding, remarkable artwork in stone, not too many people around, you could always go next to the object or part you wanted to visit. Most impressive for me we're the cloister and the chapter house, what wonderful arches! Mostly recommended for architecture lovers!

The monastery is just stunning - the architecture and celebration of the exploration and the role of the monastery in that past time was really well presented throughout. We went later in the afternoon and it was a lovely temperature and had wonderful light for photos at that time. The line was quite long and disorganised to get in, but it moved relatively quickly in the end.

We met our guide Luis at the designated meet up spot and enjoyed a very educational tour of the monastery, pasteis tasting & production tour, and waterfront walk to the Monument of the Discoveries. Luis was so informative about everything and the skip-the-line feature of our ticket was a true time saver and value. This booking was a good tour!

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: Off-shoulder tops, dresses, and knee-high shorts are not recommended.

Visitors are not allowed to photograph some parts of the monastery.

Keep in mind that food, beverages, large bags, or backpacks are not allowed on this experience.

Accessibility

The lower level is wheelchair accessible, but some areas have cobblestones and can be tricky to navigate.

Wheelchairs are available for rent at the entrance.

The church is a part of Jerónimos Monastery and offers free entry, but you must join a separate line to enter.

The monastery is a crowd-puller, and wait times can stretch to 2 hours during peak hours. Plan smart: arrive early and book tickets online in advance.

To avoid the rush hour madness, we recommend the guided tour with 9:30am priority access.

Entry is free for Portugal residents on Sundays and public holidays, which often leads to larger crowds. If possible, plan your visit on another day.

The Jerónimos Monastery remains closed on Monday, January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, and December 25.
