As a 25 year veteran Theatre teacher in the US, I have directed and attended 100's of shows. What set this experience apart is simply put: hospitality and artistry. First, I arrived 15 minutes late to the theatre, and the staff were so inviting and accommodating and calmly, respectfully walked me to my seat, and this attitude was reflected through the rest of the FOH team. It definitely settled my embarrassment. Second, the sheer creativity and brilliance I saw onstage from all the actors, technicians, musicians, etc. was absolutely breathtaking, magical, and made me feel like a kid again. I actually shed a tear of joy when one of the lead characters said, "Can anyone hear me?"and a child in the audience, without hesitation, exclaimed, "Yes!" To captivate the audience to that degree and make us sigh, laugh, gasp, and hold our breath the entire time is a feat very few shows possess, and I've come back from London inspired and remembering why I love this artform so much!

The musical was marvelous. Costume, set design and creatures were amazing! Great acting, script, choreography, and musical production. Everything was wonderful and well worth the price and time. Also, what a great theater. It is not beautiful on the outside like the old theaters. However, the inside is spacious, seats are decent size and comfortable, and the acoustics are wonderful.

Great theatre, very comfortable and intimate despite being on the back row. Show used amazing set design. We've seen the animated movie several times so were curious how they would translate this into stage, but they did an incredible job. Brought my daughter to see this from Australia and it made our trip.

This is an absolutely must see show! I knew the title, but didn't know the story or see the film...but WOW! It was pure magic, so much so that we have booked to go again in 5 weeks time. The flights, hotel and tickets are all booked and I'm already counting down the days to see it again. Breathtaking!

For those who love the movie,- this is an absolute "must not miss out on". For everyone else,- this is a fabulous evening filled with wonder. A fantastic show both technical and emotional. I loved every minute of it and so did my daughter.

Magnifique, très poetique. En famille avec deux ados, nous avons tous beaucoup aimé. Le visuel est superbe, instruments live excellents. Plutot atypique je pense par rapport aux comedies musicales. Nous avons passé une très bonne soirée

The story

Join sisters Satsuki and Mei as they move to their curious new home in the countryside. Exploring their unfamiliar surroundings, they soon encounter a world of spirits, spritesand magical creatures. Maybe it was all a dream? Or perhaps they really are now friends with the giant, ancient protector of the forest named 'Totoro' and his friend the 'Catbus'.

Absolutely lived up to the hype. The puppetry and set design were both glorious. The cat bus scene in particular was beautifully imagined.

This was my (family's) only chance to watch a Ghibli Stage Play and it was the most magical experience being able to see it.

Suggested age for this show is 6+, but younger guests are welcome. The show will be quite long, quite loud in parts, and possibly scary for some younger children at times. Children need to occupy their own seats at all times throughout the performance. This production is not suitable for children under 4 years of age (including babes in arms).

Keep in mind, the theater is air-conditioned throughout the year and can get a bit chilly. Bring along a light jacket if needed.
