Absolutely phenomenal! Hadestown was an unforgettable experience! The new cast is outstanding, with breathtaking vocals from the actors playing Orpheus and Eurydice, whose voices and performances were exceptional. Their chemistry, the emotional depth, and the beautiful storytelling bring this timeless tale of love, hope, and sacrifice to life. A perfect blend of music, talent, and theatrical magic. My daughter and I really loved it. It was an amazing assemble of people singing and dancing. So much power in their voices. The theatre was gorgegous and the working crew amazingly sweet. We would definitely return.

My favourite musical, needed to see it in London during my short visit. I sat front row, the experience was amazing - able to see actual sweat and tears on the performers faces. Beautiful intimate theatre. Loved it!!

This production is outstanding - the mix of New Oleans type jazz, the live band on stage, and the talent is just amazing! One of the best musical productions my husband and I have ever seen.

The powerhouse vocals of all the cast were incredible. Staging and costumes were great. A wonderful retelling of a timeless story. Would go again and again if I lived in London.

The rollercoaster Underworld saga, set in the world of Greek mythology, is returning to London after it first played at the National Theatre in 2018.

After opening to rave reviews and critical acclaim, Anaïs Mitchell and Rachel Chavkin’s Hadestown was nominated for 14 Tony Awards in 2019, a record-breaking number, and won 8 of them.

It also holds a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. So, there is no doubt that Hadestown in London is going to be a phenomenal experience.

The story

A story about the trials and tribulations of love, Hadestown focuses on two couples — the poverty-ridden Orpheus and Eurydice and the King of the Underworld, Hades and his wife, Persephone. When Persephone is miserable about returning to the Underworld after she visits the world above, Hades heads out to search for someone who will appreciate the offerings of his home. He finds Eurydice and convinces her to move to the Underworld in exchange for food and protection. Eurydice agrees and becomes a worker at Hadestown, the dark underground factory of Hades. When Orpheus finds out, he vows to save Eurydice. What follows is a heartbreaking tale of sacrifice, triumph and the mysterious machinations of fate.

Shaun Dooley was absolutely brilliant. And while orpheus and eurydice is my least favourite Greek myth the performance was truly amazing. Hades and Persephone story was intriguing to me. Also it was quite a spectacle watching my 6'6 husband folding himself into a first row in grand circle

The acting was great. Seats were good. Good view. It was good there was an intermission. Easy to get in to the show. Wrong kind of show for us -- about the devil. Didn't care for the story, but the acting was great.
