Travel back 4500 years into the heart of ancient Egypt with the Horizon of Khufu, a 45-minute VR experience that blends ancient wonders and modern technology.

Strap on your VR headset and stand at the foot of the impressive and tawny Pyramid of Giza and the celebrated Sphinx in the presence of a select few.

Witness the burial rites of King Khufu and spend some time solving hieroglyphs, making it an entertaining experience like no other.

Listen to the audio in your preferred language as you journey on the blue waters of the Nile and learn about the secrets behind the pyramid’s design.

Did you know? King Khufu's mummy has never been found. Only his empty sarcophagus sits in the King's Chamber inside the Pyramid of Giza.

I had gone about two months back with two other friends and was really impressed. I told another friend of mine that she really needed to go because it was really really good and even though I had already seen it I was happy to go a second time we've had.

This was a spur of the moment purchase, as we were at the Fever Pavilion to see another exhibition. We had never done the VR experience before, so we were quite intrigued. The staff were fantastic and helpful before it started and then, what a ride it was! Being able to see the pyramids in a way that you would not be able to see them in real life was amazing. The effects were fantastic & a couple of times, quite overwhelming (but in a good way!) We would definitely do this again.

Located at Sydney Olympic Park, this immersive virtual reality (VR) experience will take you 4,500 years back to ancient Egypt using high-resolution 3D visuals and interactive storytelling.

Short but impactful adventure

After a quick orientation with a staff member, strap on your gear and begin your 45-minute adventure. Walk through the Queen’s chambers filled with ancient stonework, admire the exquisite craftsmanship of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and see royal figures wearing jewelry reconstructed from the objects found in King Khufu's mother’s tomb. With audio in the language of your choice, learn about the ancient rites of the Pharaohs and the myths behind the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egypt, making it an educational yet fun experience for guests.

What’s not allowed

Tripods and backpacks are not allowed in this experience.

It is recommended to not wear hats or caps as this experience requires the usage of VR headsets.

Shutterbugs, take note: Flash photography is a no-go inside the venue. However, professional photography is allowed if authorized by a staff member.

Safety is a priority. So, this experience is restricted for guests under the age of 10 years and under the height of 1.30m.

Accessibility

This experience is wheelchair accessible.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for pregnant women and guests with claustrophobia, motion sickness, hearing issues, or vertigo.

Your safety comes first. So, guests with cardiac issues or epilepsy are restricted from participating in this experience.

Service dogs are permitted only for a seated experience to avoid collision with other users.

Children between 10 to 15 years must be accompanied by an adult to take part in the experience.

Guests with prescription glasses are recommended to wear normal reading glasses, as other types such as varifocals may lower the overall viewing experience.
